The "I probably won't have another bike for 15 years" For Sale thread

Such a sad but true subject line, haha...

Instead of having this nice stuff sitting around unused, I figured I'd throw it up on here. I probably won't get a bike for another couple years (shitty combination of house, bills, kid, working too many hours, etc), and it depresses me to see this stuff sitting around. All this stuff was used for the one year I rode.

    Scorpion EXO 700 helmet

The dark one on the right

    Size: Adult Large

Some minor scuffs from about a 7,000-mile summer. I loved this helmet, one of the first ones Scorpion made when they first came out. Very light compared to the HJC's. $60?

    HJC CL-12 helmet

The white one on the left

(Just using this as a reason to show off my wife's nice bum)

Size: Small or Med (can't find the tag)

This was my wife's helmet, so probably has about 500 of the 7,000 miles on it. I bought this new for about $90. $40?

(Note - we also have that Joe Rocket mesh jacket that my wife is wearing above, though it doesn't seem to fetch more than $20 on ebay, so not really worth it to unload it)

    Alpinestar S-MX boots

Size: 46 (I'm about an 11-11.5 in normal street shoes)

I LOVED these boots. I bought them used (I think from nefarious) and they rocked. I went through two pairs of Sidis, and they just didn't fit right. These were a vast improvement. They have the normal scuff and wear and dirtyness, but they're still sweet boots. Seems they hold their value pretty well on ebay. $80?

Forgive me for being out of the game for a while if these prices are way off. Feel free to make an offer. Live in Hooksett, NH, work in Nashua, NH.

OH, and the reason why it's gonna be tough to buy another bike anytime soon:

He's about 14 months old now. Wife said "when the baby can tell me to let you buy a bike, you might be able to get another one". So far he can say "dada" and "bike", so we're closer...

I made that decision 18 years ago and finally got back to biking almost three years ago. I don't regret it, the other payoffs succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. Three kids graduated from college and VERY gainfully employed.

Hard times but there were some good times in there. Treasure them.

Absolutely man, I wouldn't trade him for anything. He's seriously the greatest thing that's ever happened to us. I've accepted that I won't have a bike for a long time and I'm cool with that. Congrats on the successful tots, and hopefully I'll be making a post like yours in the future...

good luck w/ the sale. Too bad that Exo is a large, if it was a Medium I'd consider it as another back-up. (like 4 helmets isn't enough )

Bump...nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a used helmet, right?
