Just passing along the information.
Titled Race Hawk $3500 - Honda Hawk GT Forum
A friend of mine is looking to sell his Hawk. It is located in IL. but delivery help may be possible to the east coast. This is a competitive race package and would make a silly street scooter. The list of mods is long long long so bear with me here.
As it sits:
700cc motor with Klymenco (Kflow) heads, 2 track days on fresh motor
New Megacycle X8 cams with 2 track days on them
Slotted cam sprockets
Barnett clutch
Custom Aluminum subframe
Custom SS exhaust with stepped headers (measured an tuned, equal length not cheap to produce) with underseat or side mount options
CBR900RR forks (43mm) with custom valving and springs (Madsen Engineering tuned)
17" front wheel with EBC Prolite rotors
Penske rear shock w/1600lb spring and fresh rebuild (Madsen Engineering tuned)
8 spoke, 5.5" VFR rear wheel
Hyperform tail section and Sharkskinz RS250 tail
Proteck rearsets
ZX7 radiator
Daytona Temperature guage
aluminum tach housing (stock tach) with aluminum bracket
Tapered headset bearings
2 piece Graves clipons
SS brake lines F/R
EBC HH pads
Custom battery bracket (in front of motor below header for better weigh distribution)
520 gearing
No upper fairing (he likes the naked look)
Extras include: 40mm CV carbs (JW Raceparts)
extra tank
extra gearing (all aluminum)
parts needed for cooling mod but not installed since you would need to remove the starter to run it.
pile of other stuff (I'll get list and better details for serious inquiries)
He's a painter so you can pic a color.
I have some old pics (not current) but will make him take new ones if there is any interest.
$3500
It goes without saying that to duplicate it would cost much much more. The exhaust alone would cost $1200, shock $750, pistons $400, cams $350, slotting cams $40, Rearsets $225, Clip-ons $140, Headwork ???, Subframe???, JW carbs impossible to find, etc.

testingurtomato can't be online right now or this thing would already be sold!
What's the reliability of a built hawk like that?

They win.
Fresh motor should get you 2- 3 seasons. I tear mine down every year just to be safe. I don't want to experience any problems on the track. Every racer should do this. Matt Stone and Bob Stone have not torn there’s down in 2 years and they still rip. I had a coolant issue in APRIL 07 (stupid radiator cap) and lightly cooked the front piston. I ran that all season and did not know it until my winter tear down.
Dan had issues (Seized) with his motor only because of neglect form the previous owner. I will put $ on it that it was left to rot outside in the south. I tore it apart and found out that the crank and rod are all bound up.
It's like with any bike. Maintenance is always welcomed.
I may have a treat for you on the 2nd or 3rd.
