I love this bike and have been holding onto it for years, but I never use it. It needs a little work, but runs very strong.
The frame has about 56k miles on it, the previous owner had the engine replaced with a same-year Speed Triple engine (identical except it's powder coated black) after the original crankshaft failed. This engine has about 14k miles on it and had the 12k mile service about 4 years ago. It runs very strong. This engine is so much fun and sounds great with the Two Brothers exhaust.
The bike has been down at low speed on the left side. Got caught on a wet trolley track at about 10 mph. Fairing is cracked and a little rashed on that side but works fine. The last year I rode it regularly I ran it with the fairing off, but it can be put back on no problem.
Other issues: the fork seals need to be replaced. The rear caliper is seized. I haven't had time to try to fix it, but I do have a complete spare rear brake system. I have two seats, both have some fairly minor tears in the vinyl. I had planned to have one reappolstered at some point.
The bike was a daily rider, rain or shine for years and isn't the brightest or shiniest, but it's solid, runs well, and is a lot of fun.
I'd like to get $1200 for it, but I'm open to offers. Title is clean and in my name. I really need to get it out of my garage as we'll be taking delivery of my wife's new Street Twin in the spring and our one car garage already has 4 bikes in it.
