Do they put the crossplane engine in the FZ1's or is the engine derived from the older R1's?

It's the older engine - in fact, I think the 2004-05 20 valve engine. Plenty powerful and with a PC to smooth out the throttle should be a terrific bike. Very good stock suspension and brakes. I was surprise at how many FZ1's I saw in the Alps when I went touring. Seemed to be a popular bike in Europe. That is a great price for a well setup machine. If I was to own only one bike this one would be on my short list!

I don't believe so but a crossplane FZ1 would be pretty dope.
