The manufacturer's website says that model sand pail was originally sold with a matching shovel. What's the status of the shovel?
A matching-numbers pail & shovel kit of that vintage would definitely fetch top dollar.

What is the manufacure month and date? Some of these pails had premature seam failure. IIRC anything built between December of 1984 to June of 1985 were affected. My friend had his replaced under a "good will" warranty. Seems like the factory knows about the problem but, are reluctant to issue a mandatory recall. If I didn't just buy a 5 gallon bucket I'd be all over this. GLWS!

Speaking of which, have I ever mentioned that I pail year-round? I've got 100,000 scoops on mine, still on the original handle, because I'm better at bucket maintenance than you. Also, I recon it takes twice as much skill for me to fill the ol' pail when its -60 out and snowing sideways than for you fair-weather fairies to dig your moats in circles for 7 months of the year.

My brother's 2nd grade teacher's father-in-law knows a gal from Kalamazoo who said the guy that his neighbor's best friend's boss buys his gas from a man named George (or maybe it was John...Jerry? Can you replace the handle with a blue one? How much will you take off the asking price since I obviously need the blue handle.
