Scorpion EXO-700 Crackhead helmet - Large - New in Box

I purchased this helmet for my son back in September and as it turns out, it's too large for him. I can't return it, as it's been 3 months since purchase. Never been worn, except for him to try it on. It's a 2008 model, manufacture date is 11/2007. Size is Large.

Original MSRP on it is $249. Paid $120 for it (plus shipping). Asking $100.

Chuck, I just need to make sure this is my size before I can give you a definitive answer. Does anyone in the burlington area have a scorpion I can try on? Or, if the Padding can be changed out to a smaller size I'll send you the money tomorrow.

I can answer the padding question, since that was my first thought when it was too big for my son.

Here's the information he sent us from Scorpion: "Currently we offer only 2 shell sizes per style (EXO 400 and 700, VX-14 and 17). All our extra-small to medium sizes come from one mold while the large to double extra large sizes come from another shell mold. The internal white EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner is also the same size for the smaller and larger helmet ranges mentioned. It is the softer, upholstered "comfort liners" which are installed to actually "size up" or size down" within the shell range to get the perfect head size for you."

So, you cannot buy the medium internals and have them fit the large shell.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be up that way anytime soon, but I do have a pair of EXO-700s in large (I liked the first enough to buy a second) if you happen to be coming through this part of the state anytime soon. Mark has an EXO-700 as well, I believe, but I don't know what size he wears.

I actually found that their sizing appears to be identical to HJC and a large is going to be too big fir me.

My husband wants to get into riding this year. I know he fits into the HJC large size. I'm going to ask if he likes the style, if so, we may look into purchasing this. I'll let you know.
