wanted: street bike for around $3000

Posting this for a friend.
He bought a 2001 SV650 when it was new, and sold it in 2006. Looking to get another street bike in the $3000 range. Doesn't plan on taking it to the track, so no track bikes please. Wasnt really being specific on what he wants, but I know he likes R1's, CBR's, SV650's, and GSX-R's.

exactly why i said no track bikes. i knew pete's bike would get into this thread somehow. i already told him about it when he called this weekend asking about a bike. I tried to sell him on it, but it's not what he's looking for.

thanks Doc, but I doubt he'll want a 500 after having an SV650 for 5 years. he might go for a 600 if the price it right, but I have a feeling he might want a bigger motor

What U see is what it needs Bike runs and drive 100% fine..he rode it a bunch after that and the whole way home no issues..just is moving on to new bike...got his money out of it and just wants to break even at 3k...

where is the bike located? any other info about it? miles, year, accessories, etc?

Its an 01 around 5k ish for miles its in Tewksberry and its all stock except the Jadine GP1 and tank Bag, bar ends and tank pad but not much more pretty much stock and still has the OEM tires...clean bike just had the low speed slide and he has lost interest in it and has money now so its B-new for him....he doesn't wheelie or ride hard just likes to do long rides 4-500 at a whack.

YESSSSSS it does......and Srry but its a 04 and has between 5-6K on it and has a CLEAN MA title in hand....just got off the phone with my bud.

Yup, he was at 3500 I said 3k is reasonable and def worth it for a Triumph in running/ride off condition....they are a good 600 bike bit bigger than the GSXR's or CBR's but a fun ride and handles great. more like a 636 power on a 750 size bike.....weird comparison but.....fun ride

Who says it's a track bike? It's done way more miles on the street than the track & has probably been beat on less than some other street bikes.

well i know he doesnt want to do any work on it to make it a street bike (plastics, wiring, etc). just wants a street ready bike that he can ride and that's it

That's what my ZX is. It's NOT a track only bike. It's been registered & insured its whole life for street use. 100% street legal & I even have the stock directionals that plug right in should any inspection station give the next owner any hassle.

Shit, some kid just came by yesterday to look at it. We talked for like an hour, then I broke out the Tuono & we went for a little demo ride. He loved it, just has to check his funds & crunch the numbers.
