    120/180 Pirelli Diablo RAIN Tires

Up for sale are my Pirelli rains.

    120/180 sizing, SC1 (blue) compound.

These have had very minimal use, 1 slow rainy trackday at 1:40's and 1 practice and 1 race at around 1:28s. So pretty much new and always stored correctly.

These cost $497, will sell for $300.

Pickup or meet in the metrowest MA area.

if half the rounds are in the rain I'm quitting. if I had spare wheels I'd probably jump on these. but then I keep thinking that I don't wanna ride in the rain anyway.

maybe that guy who can spin his street tires in 6th in the rain could use these. imagine how fast he'd go with all this wet weather traction.

If it rains during half the rounds at Loudon this year I'm personally going to take a $hit on the seat of your race bike when you're not looking. I hate racing in the rain...mainly because I suck at it.

You should get spare wheels and then buy these.

Racing in the rain is fun, and when you crash, it's not as bad because you're going slower.

Haha... I know the 6th gear wheel spin makes a good joke, but it didn't come about because I was making a claim to have done that. I was spinning the tire coming onto the straight in 3rd gear, and then after shifting a couple times, my boot was holding the lever on my then standard shift bike up so I couldn't figure out why I was hitting the rev limiter and had no more gears. I had never had my boot hold up the lever like that so I didn't know what the hell was going on, so I threw it out there that it seemed like I was already in 6th because there were no more gears. I was paranoid that something was wrong w/the transmission so I came up with all possible causes, like maybe the tire was spinning, which would explain why I was hitting the rev limiter and not going anywhere. Now it's become that I'm the guy who can spin his tires down the straight in 6th... but hey, that's the beautiful thing about this forum! I'm also plymouth's fastest, a bible thumping religious nut, completely delusional, arrogant, and a fag... . Oh, and my dick looks like an acorn!

In all seriousness CEO, I'm somewhat interested in those tires but kind of wondering how much life is left and whether I shouldn't just buy new ones. How many races do new rains usually last, and how many will yours last? How come you aren't using them yourself if they still have so much life on them? Not being a dick, just trying to figure out if the savings is worth it.

These were $500 new, you're saving $200. They are are 90-95%.

I'm not using them because I've switched tire brands.

Rain tires last forever, at least at non wood/greenwood/etc pace (think several seasons) as long as you:

    1. Don't run them in dry/drying conditions (I haven't)

    2. Store them properly (I have)

Let me know if you want them.

Re: 120/180 Pirelli Diablo RAIN Tires

$300 for a set of lightly used Pirelli rains is a good deal, even with new 120/180 rains having come down in 2011 to $435 a set. http://www.gomtag.com/product/14693/name.htm

They do last a long time if used in wet conditions -
The way to tell, the edges of the tread block should still look square - not worn and fuzzy. They work by closing down the sipe gap - squeezing out the water to then form a solid "slick" tire like pattern on the track. The pic shows good square edges.

    Thanks for the bump Graham.

I did notice that Pirelli dropped their prices for these, the price I listed is what it was when I bought them.

Either way, I think this is a fair deal since they are in great shape. Surprised no one has jumped on them considering we race at Loudon
