    Sweet Van build

Not mine, but this is a REALLY nice van build for sale. It's in CA, but a road trip home would be epic.

That is sick. I would love to stick my oldest in that with a prepaid debit card once we get out west and just set him loose to get lost and find himself. Alas, at $62.5k I don’t see it happening!!

Nope, already have the fuso. The rest is my time, my welder, and aluminum and steel stock.

Made me look. Seems you can get a brand new Fuso 4x4 chassis cab for a little over $40k. That's hot.

The thing I don't like about those is that the entire cab is wasted cubic feet. No pass through, no way to use the seats for the house. co pilot can't go back and make the sammies without stopping. Also, they drive like a work truck. They are undeniably fun and badass though.

For those of you who follow the van market perhaps more closely than I do, are there any good sources that you track other than the usual suspects (Transit forum, Sprinter forum, Craigslist)?

I am in the market but want to make sure I am looking in the right places. Goal is more of a moto-specific or merely moto-accommodating build, not a full conversion or home-on-wheels. Like 10-track-events-per-year-step-up-from-contractor-van type of build.

For that kind of a thing, you are better off building your own. There are companies that do simple modular builds for crazy money. It's not that hard to make a flip up bed, and some L track to the floor, and even add a small kitchen console. house power systems are getting easier and cheaper to buy/build. Heat for sleeping is a nice upgrade in the NE. looks like I will be running my heat more than half the season.

I'm on Facebook hiatus at the moment, but some of the regional MX bike & gear buy-and-sell FB groups have seen a few vans come up for sale. Mostly just Ford or Chevy vans, but done well enough to get started.

Just so happens that one is on there today...approximately a year old Mercedes sprinter van stretch/high roof with 20k miles for about $32K

I couldn't agree more with you, which is why the plans I have include a passthrough and a raised cab roof. Still drawing up plans with my fabricator friend. One of the reasons I went with my van is because of the swivel seats and passthrough. I hate the idea of having to get out and walk back to a living space.
