Ask Mike(imkindafuckedup) if he still has his Monte Carlo. I know it is not even close to what you want but it's the only thing I can think of right now lol.

Know anyone that will swap an engine into a subaru legacy wagon on the cheap? 2.2L 4 I think. I could probably get you the wagon real short $ (belongs to a friend, she's done with it due to blown motor) if you could find a motor and throw it in. I know it's not a turnkey solution, but it fit enough of your criteria I figured I'd throw it out there. She was going to part it out but is now having second thoughts about losing $ after selling parts & having to pay the junkyard, so you'd just be competing with junkyard rates on the car... not much at all.

I had a feeling, but it's one of those things where I hate to see the car go to a junkyard, and don't feel comfortable swapping an AWD engine by myself, so I had to throw it out there.

Just FYI, changing a motor in one of those Subarus is about a 1.5 hour job for a good mechanic, and the motors can be found very cheaply in junkyards all over New England.

    D'oh.

I'd love to upgrade from my 2002 Subaru Outback Sport ... don't think 3k's gonna cut it for me.

    Bleh.

FYI BS is about as mechanically inclined as the actual black squirrel was at staying alive (may he R.I.P.)

    Daniel,
Get that Subie and let's do a WRX swap. Parts will land you well within your target range of $3000.
