    WTB (or rent): Parking Lot

WTB (or rent): Large chunk of property with large paved section. Abandoned commercial spot with large parking lot would be perfect. Away from houses & other police calling entities a plus. Must be cheap, location in middle of nowhere NH OK.

Re: WTB (or rent): Parking Lot

Nah, no stunting. I could probably do that in my parents driveway (mine is tiny) if I caught a major case of douchebaggery, turned my hat backwards, bought some bigger jeans, took off my belt and got some high-top sneakers. And, of course, took a hammer to my gas tank. I’m thinking more of setting up a spot to set up a few turns and practice, work on form, corners, etc. What I really need to do is make friends with someone who owns an office park complex.

Bill, is that bridge in Florida? Let me get my checkbook…

I don;t own a parking lot but if you pick any parking lot i can sell you the space hovering about 15 feet above it...

PS, you sound like you are looking to stunt in your ad. Why not just head to the DMV parking lots after hours and practice there? they are already set up with a slalom and other things.

Or are you looking for much much bigger?

I'm not looking to stunt... would need much, much bigger. The ad was partially tongue in cheek... what I really want is somewhere to practice on my EX when I can't run @ Loudon Of course, I want to win the lottery too, I'm not planning on having any luck with either. Although the latter would solve the problem with the former...

Re: WTB (or rent): Parking Lot

Nah. I'll get the location anyway, and with my bike being 100% not street legal/plateable I'll probably want to stay away anyhow. I bet I could get pretty good at turning left at low speeds turning laps of my work?

Man, someone should have warned me this racing/track stuff was so addictive

Seekonk speedway, they may be going under from what I heard. The owners are in a building just west of the track on Rt 6. and are really nice people. It's actually the first building to the left (if you're on Rt6, looking at the track). I'm sure they'd be amicable to something, worth a shot.....

Get a mini, all the body position, tire feedback, technique, etc are the same, but the speeds are lower so you can get the job done in a much smaller lot. Also, you're much closer to the ground so spills are typically less painful. : )

    FasYankee,

That’d be well beyond badass, but I have a feeling it’d cost WAY too much. There are probably insurance restrictions in place, need to have EMTs on scene for bikes to be on the track, etc.

Kurlon, a mini isn’t a bad idea. If I can find a smaller lot to play in I’ll keep it in mind.

I know that they used to have MSF courses in the front parking lot, which is huge and empty, the back lot is dirt. The course is an oval with banks, and figure 8 run in the middle for demos.....but you wouldn't want to ride on that though, there's 6' tall jumps entering and exiting the 8......I did a demo derby there few years ago with a VW Passat....was kinda sketchy with all the lincolns and caprices......

car looked slightly different after I was through with it.

That's what I figured, but am not sure if the public access thing changes anything. Wasn't able to figure anything out poking around either. Tempted to call the PD of the town it's in, but figure 1) what one cop says is not dept policy and 2) they might not know either. I'd like to know and have a copy of any applicable laws with my permission letter to give them when they stop me.

Re: WTB (or rent): Parking Lot

The lot you are talking about the only entrance is also the owners driveway i think that makes them not able to go there. also it has a gate close the gate behind us and they cant even enter legally (i think)

here's my take... privately owned, land owners WRITTEN permission, you're golden. If the gates locked who cares if it's plated or not. Have the permission with you and the leo should be ok with it. What town I may want to come play too

Re: WTB (or rent): Parking Lot

The cops here show up and spectate when we rip our minis in the local lot here. We don't have written permission, but they know the lot owner. Worst case they try and bag you for something but you'll have an easy time getting it dismissed in court.

i'm pretty sure a gate = need warrant to enter without permission, so they may just yell and shake a fist at ya if they don't like your motor bike operation
