WTB: Snowblower; John Deere, Honda or Ariens

While my 5.5 hp two smoker treated me well last year, I need something with a bit more power. Looking for a 24" minimum width, ~8hp or greater, no more then three years old. Can travel to pick up.

Deere no longer offers snow throwers. They stopped about 5 years ago. The Deere blowers were re-badged Ariens that were painted green, anyway.
(they have some branded as Frontier, but they are total garbage! and, this year, Home Depot and Lowes will be selling a "Deere" blower... also total crap)

Honda is the BEST snow blower on the planet.


Ariens also makes a good machine, for the money... My second choice to Honda.

+1 on the Honda. I will give Toro a little edge over the Ariens. 24 - 26 inch is the perfect size. I would spend the money on a good one, because a shitty one will cost you more in repairs. I work on all kinds part time, winter tune-ups and stuff. They key is keep them maintained! Belts, grease them and stabile.
