I'm genuinely grateful that it's saved you money in taxes, but your experience should be far more prevalent among those making less than half a million a year. My experience tells me much more about where the nation's priorities are as far as tax codes go than your experience does... and our nation's tax code priorities are unquestionably not in favor of those that own very little.
ha, just gave my accountant my 2019 check yesterday, for todays deadline, smallest check in years as I wind my business down, but still enough to get an adjustment beyond CoL in my SS check

Immigration...sure open those borders up to all...fabulous idea! As someone who works in deciding which H1B visas get to take US jobs, I can assure you this is not from a lack of US workers. It is a wage arbitrage and a strategic goal for firms to reduce salary expense. Our IT group has 5 Citizens (two of which got their citizenship within past 5 years) and the remainder (17) are all H1B.

Trade...NAFTA was just marvelous in its transfer of jobs and intellectual property from the US to low wage nations. Lighthizer was an absolute sniper in building the USMCA (and it still didnt go far enough). Do you even know who he is? Now Biden is all "bring jobs back"....fucking farce. Tariffs are one of the only tools that will have a direct, immediateimpact on protecting US industry and products. Yes there is retaliation but the US has the upper hand with nations like China as it's largest consumer. Your memory must be faltering...did Obama not put Tariffs on steel products from China to protect the US's industry? Did he not raise tariffs on tires from China when low cost alternatives were being dumped in the US market? How about solar panels? If you want to know who the real anti-American group is in the United States...they're call the US Chamber of Commerce. Good God...READ!!!!!

Economics...Well why don't you enlighten us on how trade deficits "work". Are you implying a US trade surplus with China would be a negative thing?

Constitution...Can you quantify? Which powers (or abuse of) do you speak of?

Civil Rights...In what context? More incomplete thoughts?

10-20 years...why is that how long you think it will take to complete your goal of full globalization? There may be some surprises in store for you on that front.

The payroll tax fell which means you took more money in upfront! You could not have been comparing your paycheck pre and post.

Rye, Trump's tax "reforms" didnt make very much difference for almost everyone. If you saved over $10,000 a year in tax liability just by Trump's reforms, congratulations. Good for you. Unfortunately, the other 98% of us live on a gross income under $400k annually.

I'm also not sure how Pete's liability went up that much. It should have stayed about the same for a person in his situation.

First of all, the H-1B program is a small part of the problem. And his plans were unveiled when -- last week? Congratulations, in 3 years the Republicans have taken steps to address one small part of a problem. Kudos.

I thought there was going to be a wall? I thought Mexico was going to pay for it? I thought we were going to fix the guest worker issue, streamline the green card process, and eliminate all of the backlogs? Instead we got *checks notes* jack fucking shit.

Trade...NAFTA was just marvelous in its transfer of jobs and intellectual property from the US to low wage nations. Oh boy. Where do I begin? First off, USMCA is little more than NAFTA v2. Second off, this country has a service economy, not a low-wage manufacturing economy. Third, Pres Trump pledged to bring back manufacturing and coal jobs.. how did that go? Oh, I know, it didn't. Fourth, tariffs are paid by the consumer and serve only to make products more expensive. Tariffs are a tool, not a strategy; and if they're so fucking great, where is the completed trade agreement with the Chinese? Just kidding, we abandoned it after Phase I. Great job!

Economics...Well why don't you enlighten us on how trade deficits "work". Are you implying a US trade surplus with China would be a negative thing?
Bilateral trade surpluses are meaningless. Having a surplus or a deficit with China (or any other country) is neither good nor bad, it just is. Anyone who says they are good or bad does not know what they're talking about. Anyone who tells you that a trade deficit means you're losing on trade is an idiot.

Constitution...Can you quantify? Which powers (or abuse of) do you speak of?
You mean, where he has repeatedly said "Article II lets me do whatever I want"? Let's roll the tape.

Civil Rights...In what context? More incomplete thoughts?
Take the guns first, worry about due process later

10-20 years...why is that how long you think it will take to complete your goal of full globalization? There may be some surprises in store for you on that front.
Why do people think globalization is inherently bad or wrong?

He didn't cut the payroll tax, he deferred it. Temporarily. He does not have the legal authority to cut it.

My taxes went up as well and our combined incomes are well into the bracket everyone thinks got a break at the expense of the middle class.

If you own a home in MA you almost certainly paid more in taxes due to the 10k cap on SALT deductions.

Also if it limited the deductibility of state income taxes, local motor vehicle excise taxes, etc.

Right, the combination of property taxes and income taxes will be significantly higher than 10k for most people, that plus the loss of the personal exemption significantly increases AGI for anyone who was previously itemizing.

This is always my favorite part. Nobody has any complaints about Trump's nightmare deficits in the last four years but you know the screaming is going to start about one second after the inauguration.

We are on track to give farmers $37.2 billion of taxpayer aid this year. What a fantastic job by Pres Trump, his NAFTA negotiators, and everyone involved. If you're playing at home, that's 97.8% of the value of all yearly agricultural exports when we had NAFTA. There's so much winning I don't know where to fucking start.

I thought Pres Trump and farmers were against socialism? Apparently not, according to that liberal rag known as the Wall Street Journal.

I would say that conservatives not understanding economics is the hill I will die on, but sadly for me, I am no danger of injury whatsoever.
