The governor is a spineless fool. With Maine's governor on the way out I can't wait to see what happens here next. With any luck we'll have another republican governor (with a pair, unlike VT's dbag gov) when the ranked choice voting blows up in the liberals' faces.

How do you figure? The age increase is waived if the buyer completes a Hunter Safety course...
Buyers must be at least 21, unless they complete a Vermont hunter safety course...
Which if you want a hunting license in Vermont, you have to do anyway...

An applicant for a hunting, combination hunting and fishing, archery, or trapping license must present either:

1.) A previous or current hunting, combination, archery or trapping license from Vermont or any state or Canadian province; or
2.) A certificate or a letter of proof showing satisfactory completion of an approved hunter safety, archery, or trapping education course from Vermont or any other state or province; or
3.) Completed affidavit attesting to having a prior hunting, combination, archery, or trapping license from Vermont or any other state or province.
So please, enlighten us, how will this "devastate" youngsters who want to get into hunting? Dramatic much?

Yeah... people that bought vertical grips meant for airsoft toys or just don't know how to safely operate a firearm in the firstplace.

Mag limits? Yeah, fuck that noise. Just more feel good b.s. Not to mention the law as written is completely unenforceable on those counts.

What problems did VT have with essentially zero gun laws on the books again????

The same problem that all politics has: politicians in general are only seen as “doing something” when they come up with new laws...And after 200 years, all those laws pile up like an overfilled garbage dump.

One of the acoustic bands I’m playing in wants to play outside in Northampton Mass soon...turns out we EACH need to pay the city $25 for a busking permit. For the PRIVELEGE of providing music in a public space. Are you motherfuckin kidding me? The only things I’m not being taxed on yet are sunshine, air, and my well water.

“Shall not be infringed”, seems intrusive to me. There are more guns that do NOT have 10 round magazine than there are that do.

the way I understand it, after the Parkland shooting, there was a "credible threat" to set a new death toll record at a high school shooting in a Vermont high school

There was. What's missing is that VT law enforcement was against the bills and instead supported security measures etc.....

The people in the legislature who voted for the bills all originated from NY and MA and were not true vermonters.

Hope to see your review on this here soon. There are some reviews on the Sig site for those interested, but hope Sig just isn't cranking them out and instead making a reliable carry gun.

No, because they're not preban for MA.

I do want standard capacity mags in my handguns and rifles though and so don't Vermonters.

There's zero data that a mag capacity limit has any effect whatsoever on criminals or lethality in shootings.

In fact there's been evidence presented that mag size wouldn't have had any effect on any of these "mass shootings" outside of Vegas. Max rate of fire was never a consideration and there was ample time to reload smaller mags.

Once again, a feel good law that does zero to deter those who it supposedly targets and only screws the majority of everyone else.

Btw, VT thought it wasn't an issue for them either but guess what just happened ..........whose next if we don't call it the b.s. for what it is and just roll over?

Who determined that 10 rounds was enough to defend you life? The New York police have an 18% hit rate in a shootout. So apparently 1.8 rounds is what a persons life is worth.

    Fuck that shit.

The New York Police Department is the nation’s largest police force and among the best trained, yet its own study showed between 1998 and 2006, the average hit rate was 18 percent for officers in a gunfight.

    Fuck that shit.
    http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nati...210215764.html

Retired cop had 'beware of owner' sign. The man who sneaked on his yard learned why, cops say

Zackery Bailey didn't heed the warning, police say.

A sign that says "never mind the dog, beware of owner" is posted next to the front door of 56-year-old Charles Jackson's house in Worcester, Massachusetts, according to MassLive. Jackson, a retired Worcester police officer and Army veteran, said his wife hung the sign up sometime last summer as a way to keep would-be criminals away.

But police allege that the sign didn't deter 29-year-old Zackery Bailey. According to The Boston Herald, Bailey suffered two gunshot wounds after police say he walked onto Jackson's property and then threatened to shoot the retired officer.

Bailey received treatment for his non-life-threatening injuries at a nearby hospital, police told WHDH, and was then arrested for an outstanding warrant for allegedly breaking and entering.......

"They started fighting, then they started tackling each other...then a gun shot went off," Rodrigues told NECN. "He came out, he had his badge out, and he explained to him that he was a police officer."...

In return, Jackson said he fired all the bullets in his handgun. Two of those struck Bailey, who had reached for his waistband, police told The Boston Herald.
So figure best case 2 out of 6 if revolver, 2 out of 10 if MA legal " max clip"

due to the stupid MA mag limits is the exact reason why the p365 is appealing...small single stack package and max legal capacity unless you carry a bigger pistol that accepts preban mags

i bet some of those cops only practice shooting when they have to qualify (not sure how often that is), most have never been shot at (shooting while being shot at) and they can carry standard capacity mags...so even with standard capacity plus those 2 other factors they can't hit...so a civilian has less capacity right off the bat and may or may not practice more than cops but 10 rounds is enough for a civilian?...that's BS
