Pipe Dream is an excellent venue but their beers are hit or miss. They've had numerous issues with spoiled cans and haven't handled it with any form of grace. There are much better options in the area such as:
Kelson
Rockingham
From the Barrel
603
Backyard Brewery and Kitchen
Long Blue Cat
Great North
Candia Rd.

All of them are within a short driving distance of each other.

Backyard brewery is the old Yard on the split right?
I’ve been there but didn’t know they sold beer like the other breweries.
But back to guns, I actually bought a 22 most recently thinking that was a smart move with ammo being so crazy that 22 would still be cheap.... I was wrong. Well not necessarily not cheap, but heavily shopped also.
A friend of mine who literally has two pallets of ammo had the theory that while some people seem to be price gouging, other retailers may not be gouging but are getting gouged themselves, so you should try to go to Walmart or a big retailer that can’t quite swing prices much to gouge.
I tested that theory and bought 325 rounds of 22 for cheap and 100 12 gauge shot gun shells for cheap... aaaaand ever since Walmart has we blown out.
One shop says he searches every day and even resorts to “the black market”. Whatever that means...
I’m curious if KTP falls under that “big retailers can’t swing prices much” theory as I like their 150ct 5.56.

Curious about what you guys would do with this gun. It's a Colt 1911 "Don't give up the ship" edition which was done by America Remembers. It has an oak display case with my granddad's name, rank and branch. Overall it's pretty cool. The kicker is that at some point in time, someone in my family did something in the gun safe which allowed a ton of moisture to get in. I'm not entirely sure but I believe someone hung bags of dessicant which absorbed the moisture in the air for so long, they broke open and spilled into the cases. Either way, how it happened doesn't matter.
Given the damage and the fact that it's not worth much over it's originally asking price, would you guys just shoot it? Seems to me like any monetary value as a collector are pretty much ruined by the damage and re-finishing that will need to be done.

I would like to see the name plate with granddads service.. it says Navy so i have to assume he was a swabbie also.

Ok, then I change mind then about pipe dream
As for 22. In every run in ammo, 22 always sells out. Usually 5.56/223 and 9 are first. Followed by other pistol calibers... but then everyone switches to 22 to keep shooting cheaply. And it is almost always the last caliber to come back in stock too.

Anyone a resident AR enthusiast or expert? I need an upper and have only dipped my toes into the ar stuff. I was looking at the Aero m4e1 but its a bit pricey at 500$ without a BCG and charging handle. Can get a dirty bird for 399 but there isn't much info available online about them. Probably won't do anything other than target shoot with it. Mostly I just want to build it because I've had the lower for a long time.
Look at Palmetto State armory. I haven't looked at AR parts prices since everything went full retard, but they have decent prices and a decent product. They aren't going to win any competitions, but they will hit the target good enough for plinking and even fun shoots.

Aero is the lowest quality manufacturer/assembler I would buy.
Palmetto is know to cut corners. If you do any reading about failures in classes you’ll see instructors loathe PSA. If you plan to shoot a few mags a few times a year, sure it will go bang. I wouldn’t trust my life to it though.
I view Aero as mid grade tier and agree with not going below "mid grade". Currently in the process of building out a stripped M4E1 stripped upper.
Thanks for the feedback. I ended up finding an m4e1 in stock available to ship so I just ordered one. Finally going to build the lower I've had in my safe since 2012![]()
I hear a lot of people say Palmetto sucks, but everyone who says it only claims others have had problems. I have a few of their uppers and never had a problem with any of them. I also use their lower parts kits for economy builds with no issues and the triggers in the kits have been better than more costly AR's I've bought.
