we didn't, as a matter of fact I din't even get a card yet, no bonus and oh the fishing trip we were supposed to go on in 03 and 04... The best one is I was personally confided in that we were going out on a fishing trip ...... but this all pales to getting an email that says, 'Buddy, littleton, nh needs to be set by jan 21 so let me know when you plan on going up there.' I fucking hate my job and my bosses are fucking cock suckers... I hope they lay me off till I start up the spring NEW job, pools here I come

Employers are so outta touch. After FOUR years, I FINALLY got a raise. Said they simply couldn't afford it. Considering it took 'em FOUR years to get me one, it really didn't amount to much ($2600/year). Problem is, they took away a potential $1400 worth of quarterly bonuses as a result! So after FOUR years of not getting any increase in income or benefits, they essentially gave me a $1200/year raise! When you figure it out, inflation is outpacing my 'raises' by a 4:1 ratio! And I still make about TWENTY grand LESS a year than the average GM within our franchise system. The only thing that gets me through this shit is to keep reminding myself that someone's always got it worse...

Moral? Don't work for your parents!!!

So did you have a holiday party

Well, this year we lost profit sharing, our Christmas party at the Crowne Plaza, our free turkey coupon, and they are taking away both our personal days, and a week of sick time. Add that to the gfact that we are paid well below industry average and you get GTECH!!!!!!

Meanwhile our CEO is the 2nd highest paid CEO in the state and the company made billions last year

Personally, I don't EXPECT stuff for free. But it IS a nice show of gratitude towards the people that are making YOUR company successful. A little show of gratitude can go a very long way in terms of employee morale. Not YOURS per se, Randy. I think you get the jist...

Yes, i'm a union guy, and quite proud of it honestly

I'm not gonna sit here and explain my union situation but i can assure you, i'm not one of the guys that looks for the big jobs so i can hide somewhere I work for a very small union company that only employs 2 carpenters and 1 laborer full time.

I've yet to work for anyone who doesn't expect a little extra from their employees from time to time, whether it be show up a few minutes early some days, stay late some days, or even some help after hours. I do expect something around the holidays from my employer simply because i gave my 100% to them all year, it's their time to express how much they appreciate you. Luckily, i've never had the pleasure of working for a grinch

Yeah I give em a days work, and then some and I only expect a fucking card around the holidays, it's not like they gave me my birthday off. I travel and do alot for this company and I expect at least a sales meeting to discuss the products they want us to help with sales..... So yes it is a bashing thread

I have a suspision that you would be treated the same even if you wern't in a union..

that's what I don't understand about union.... what does it do for you? granted I consider myself an employer now, but I have been employee and never had problems with anyone I worked for.
