I never forget, I hold grudges until I die. Case in point, I just tracked down a kid in the 5th grade I didn't like. He was a teacher's pet, to a teacher that hated me and took away my light blue '57 Chevy Stomper truck, who, mind you, never gave it back. Oh yes, I will collect.

My first grade teach, Sr. Collette, insisted 4+2 was NOT 6, I told her she was wrong, and the longer she made me stand at the chalk board, the louder I screamed, "FOUR PLUS TWO IS SIX!!". I will find her, and if she's dead, I'm going to desecrate her grave.

Jason Mayo, a kid who I played with in Kindergarten, always had snots running down his nose, shirt 2 sizes small always untucked, dirty hands, insisted I should not have those little green soldiers under my hollow red plastic fire truck in the sandbox, and took them out. Joke was on him I guess 'cause he pee'd on his cot during nap time that afternoon. Teacher told him he wasn't getting a star that day either. I'll find him too.

...and perhaps the first individual to ever make my shit list before I even knew what a shit list was, was my nursery school teacher. Thought I couldn't go to the bathroom alone, insisted I could, did so, and out of pure spite, took a dump in the urinal instead. I'm sure they still have employment records somewhere.

Nice to see I'm still showing up in searches... Legends never die! lololololol

    btw, how's everyone doing???

Yeah, so here's the lo-down after living in the Sunshine State for a little over a year for those that might give a damn, or believe unfounded rumors.... lol

    - I've been to the beaches, swam in the oceans, witnessed more sunsets, than I ever have in my entire life in New England combined!

    - Contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of twisties here. You just really have to get to know where they are. Case in point, about 4 miles from my house, is a rual road that runs through a bunch of farm land, 10 turns of varying intensity over 4 miles, and none are lazy sweepers either. There's another bunch out in Clearwater, and another one somewhere in Brandon I haven't gotten to yet. The only thing you really miss, is really topography.

    - Most riding is done at any time OTHER than summer. It's just too hot and humid to comfortably ride, thus, go to the beach instead...

    - Everyone and their brother has a slammed and streched bike, typically a Busa.

    - People, for the most part, are FAR more friendly and chill than New England. No one is pissed off about having to shovel snow, clean salt from their cars, or even get stuck in traffic too much.

    - I will never, ever, trade this in for overcast days, slush, dirty snow, scraping windshields, worrying about leftover sand on roads, or wearing anything other than shorts and t-shirts for MONTHS on end. As a matter of fact, the last time I wore any sort of jacket, was back in March during a cold snap.

    - To New England's credit, I think, overall, FL bikers are far more dangerous and squidly than the average Joe who rides in New England. Every group ride I've been on, and hear about, someone always, 1. gets pulled over, 2. crashes. Never been on a ride like the typical NESR ride, way to go folks!

    - 'nother plus to NE, Xmas just doesn't feel like Xmas, when it's 80 out, and you're sweating putting up your Christmas lights...

    - Time plays weird tricks on you. Because of lack of any real seasons, months seem to fuse together into a weird constant.. It seems like only yesterday it was Halloween '06...

    - The sun rises about an hour later than in NE, although the sun sets about an hour later..

    - I've totally forgotten what a shitty road is like. No such thing as a road with a 1,000 potholes left over from winter.

    - Bad weather is the exception here, not the norm. I rarely look at the forecast. You can pretty much bet every day will be nice and sunny. Although from about late May through August, you will get one massive thunderstorm per day. By 8pm, the roads will all be dry again because of the heat.

    - Reading about the storms you've recently had, and all the BS with it, I don't miss that shiat at all.

    - I intend on taking my vacations in NE now, mostly for skiing purposes, taste snow for a week or two, and bolt!

    - Floridians tend to be far more Patriotic than the angry liberals who seem to have taken over New England over the last few years.

    - The job situation here IS tough, I'm lucky to have retained most of my salary, but am still about 13% behind, nice thing is there's no State tax. Good jobs are tough to come by, well, at least for what I do, but persistence will pay off.

    - You can still buy plenty of decent single family homes for about 100-150K in particular areas that aren't dives...

    - Everyone and their brother has a truck with an obnoxious lift kit. Even Stoneman's Chevy wouldn't turn too many heads!

    - People drive way more f'd up here, too many long straights with multiple lanes encourage speed and bs lane changes.

    - I'm an annual ticket hold to disney, I've gone to ALL the theme parks so much, I've become inherently familiar with all of them!

    - Overall, despite the challenges with work, I'm glad I made the move, it was time for a change, and after 32 years in NE, I wouldn't trade t-shirts and shorts for slush and overcast for the world.

    Joe,

Good to hear you from you again. I miss all the interesting posts you contributed to or started. Nice to hear Florida is treating you pretty good. I visit the other side of the state a couple times a year now and have learned it is currently not a place I would be interested in moving to. Yes it is nice most of the time but the seasons are what makes NE so nice.

Take care and hope to see you on the board more often

The only Chevy Stoneman owns now is a Corvette - hopefully two by the end of winter...

Okay, the Disney thing. I think what everyone wants to know is have you tagged any of the college girls that run around in those mascot suits...

There are some sweet roads that cut across the state. It's been years since I've ridden down there, but I DO remember making a trip across the state and back and being pleasantly suprised at some of the roads that pass through the more desolate areas...

Keep your sunshine. New England winters SUCK, and I'm about done with 'em too. We're going to VA in March to start looking at 'better' living arrangements ourselves...

    You still got that 7?

Sadly, I'm still stuck at 7 bikes.

Since you left, I've worked at a brewery for a couple years, got engaged, got a house with some land surrounded by twisties(more motard friendly due to bumps), started racing and did surprisingly well at it, bought 5 more bikes, been to Deal's Gap 5 more weeks and took a couple dumps(not including the one I'm taking as I write this on my iPhone in the shitter).

Good to hear from you Joe, don't be too much of a stranger

    Thanks man!

I can definitely understand the seasons part, although I do intend on "vacationing" in NE in the middle of winter, 'cause, boy, do I miss skiing!

    haha, no college girls...

...although, not more than 2 months after I got here, I got "hooked" up with an awesome woman I currently live with...

Congrats on the Vette! You know, FL has absolutely no emissions or inspection. All they do, is go out and make sure your VIN matches what's on your reggie. If MA was like that, I would have owned your old Chevy years ago...!

Good luck with scoping out VA. Moving is such a friggin' hassle though, hope I never, EVER, have to do it again... Especially when you're in a new state and you can no longer say, "Oh yeah, that place is just two towns over, by the old mill, I heard there's a good xxxxx place near it too...". There's something to be said about the familiarity with the area around where you live. Even though you probably don't know every town in NH, you have a good idea where everthing is, that sort of goes out the window in a new State...

Yes, still have the 7. Although for how much longer, I'm not sure. I've lost a lot of interest in riding over the last year or two. This past year, I'll bet I never made 500 miles... Considering letting it go all together. I figure it's kinda like winning at the casino, I've never gone down (knock on wood), and I know if I keep riding, it's probably going to happen at some point. So maybe it's time to cash in the chips, and leave with a profit, instead of medical bills... Not sure yet though, every few weeks the urge still hits...

Great to hear you're doing pretty good! Life can't be that bad if you're composing posts from an Iphone!!
