The CDC reported today that it's not if, but when, it becomes a global pandemic - including the U.S.
The markets were definitely spooked.
The good news is the vaccine will start field testing soon.
This could make for an interesting spring and maybe summer.

Talking to friends in the medical field, for it to go full pandemic, it would have already. When something spreads out of control, you have concern, when it grows exponentially, then you have a problem. This really isn't spreading that fast. When you consider how jam packed china is, and you don't have THAT many infected, it isn't going to be a tremendous problem. When it hits big cities (NY, LA, Bos, Chic) and cases start doubling overnight, it is bad. Anyway, they aren't worried so I trust them more than FXMSNBCNN. Sensationalistic journalism. I have family in Germany and doesn't seem to be making such the big splash over there either.

And as for the markets, they've been waiting for something to nudge them off the cliff and get back under control. Markets moving is when the big guys make their monies. Big moves (in either direction) the more money they make.

Now excuse me while I re-stock the bunker...

I’m feeling pretty bubs, I bought moderna early yesterday morning.
It’s never going to offset the slide my 457 is taking right now, but at least I can peacock around on the internet while it gains, and hope that I can sell at the right time before it tanks too, like all my other individual gambles.

This one is getting to my wife. As such we've stocked the chest freezer. We are ready for a couple weeks with minimal external contact if required. I honestly don't see that happening. But whatever lets her sleep at night.

I saw a lady at the grocery store a couple weeks ago wearing a surgical mask. Wife has talked about buying a couple boxes of masks. But we didn't.

The impact on the markets, economies as a whole and our own governments reaction will be interesting to see.

Surgical masks just keep you from touching your face as much. Don't need them if you can remember to do that on your own. They don't fit anywhere near well enough to filter anything.

I was in Harbor Freight a couple weeks ago and an older lady was there looking for masks. Employee had to explain that they had already sold out days ago. So she bought boxes of latex gloves instead.
