Good point, I didn't mean it to come out that cynically. But when I read that headline I did wonder if he really believed that or if he was trying to send a message to Wall Street. If the pandemic suddenly ended with no more vaccines required, Moderna would be back to where they were at the beginning, which is a very hyped up company with no products -- they were at one time compared to Theranos. If the vaccine is going to be required forever, then they've at least got one revenue stream going, and that's good for the CEO and for shareholders.

The big promise of these mRNA companies (Moderna and BioNTech) was that they were going to cure cancer by making drugs customized to each patient. Not sure if that's ever going to happen, but this technique does seem capable of making some really good vaccines.

Honestly, I'm not overly concerned about catching it. I firmly believe that almost all of us will or even have already and didn't know. My biggest concern was missing out on the first vacation I had on over a year and losing any deposits we had laid out.
