    Pot referendum?

Anybody else have the "one ounce is legal" non-binding referendum on their ballot?

Or was it just my town?

What next? State Rep Jeff Spicolli?

    Pot referendum?

LOL...here in Vermont there was a "Marijuana Party" candidate on the ballot. Apparently he wasn't planning on winning, becuase he was up for election for about 5 different positions - governor, senator, auditor, etc.....

    Pot referendum?

Pot being illegal makes no sense. There's no argument that anyone can present to me to make me feel otherwise. Yes, I smoke it. But I can live without it. But 'fighting' pot is a HUGE waste of money and an unnecessary burden on law enforcement...

It wasn't on the ballot here in Waltham. We didn't have any referendums.

Gotta say I would vote for decriminalization at least.

How many times have you heard about that happening? Ever? And compare that number to how many people have died as a result of a drunk driver. Whats the difference?

And lets see how the anti-pot people will feel if a family member or loved one has a serious disease that could be managed by the drug but is not allowed to seek or obtain relief.

    Pot referendum?

I personally have never heard of someone killing someone else (by any means) BECAUSE they were stoned. I personally have never witnessed someone becoming physically aggressive BECAUSE they were stoned. I've never heard of anyone's life being ruled and defined by pot (it's a scientific FACT that pot is NOT physically addictive). And I've never heard of anyone OD'ing on pot, or 'smoking themselves to death'...

All of the above mentioned cannot be said for alcohol...

Eh, ya know what? I'm not getting into the 'why we should legalize it' arguement. But just for the record, I don't think it should be 'legalized' JUST for medical use. Again, I think it's a unnecessary burden on law enforcement and a waste of taxpayers' money...

And keep this in mind: Pot is just about the only drug - legal or otherwise - that is simply induced in it's natural form. Ya plant it, ya pick it, ya dry it, ya smoke it. Just about ANY drug out there (including alcohol) needs a chemical reaction (or addition) to reach it's intoxicating state...

**EDIT** ...or needs to be processed in some sorta way so that your body can ingest it somehow...

Oh, and hemp is NOT marijuana...

I know being stoned has prevented me from killing someone.

    Pot referendum?

I was hoping Alaska made it legal.

Not so I can go and smoke it, or see others go and smoke it, but to see how many people hold it so highly in their lives that they would move or frequent the state just to get stoned.

    well I can call a spade a spade..lol

He will prolly go and find a bunch of gov't funded studies in an attempt to prove his point...

this is a loosing arguements..the reason it remains illegal...and probably always will ....is strictly political hypocracy...plain and simple...
