Re: President Elect: Joseph R Biden

WashPo had an article on inflation that included the chart below. It somewhat supports Randy's claim of 30% increase in food, but comparing to pre-Covid prices, not 6 months ago.

It also depends a lot on how much of your diet is meat, poultry, fish, and eggs which have skyrocketed, up 44% since Jan 2019, and about 20-25% in the last 6 months. Other types of food have increased less than 20% with about half of that in the last 6 months.

But these changes have little to do with who's in the Oval office. There's a sea change in the American workforce that I'm not sure anyone really understands at this point. The easy answer is the supply chain has been disrupted. The shortage of truckers is one part, but like all complex problems the whole story is a lot more complicated. Covid seems to have caused a major reset in how many Americans view work.

I do eat local beef, and while the transportation cost may not be there, the cost /pound is still higher than the supermarket,

I have considered raising a pig, or lamb, but there is no savings in the end, and it's a lot of work, raising rabbits is the most cost effective way to raise meat, one New Zealand buck and 2 does can produce nearly 300 lbs of meat in a year

There's a local old-timer that decided to breed rabbits for meat. He couldn't give it away quick enough! Those little fuckers (pun intended) wouldn't stop. It was awesome. Just about every time we saw him he had a dressed rabbit or two for us!

A LOT easier than chickens. And a lot better tasting in my opinion. You can use rabbit in place of chicken in a ton of recipes.

In Massachusetts, the average gas price went up 7.7 cents per gallon to $3.24 Monday from last week.

The lowest price in the state was $2.97 while the highest was $4.10 — a difference of $1.13 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline went up 2.9 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.30 per gallon Monday.

The national average is up 11.1 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands $1.15 per gallon higher than a year ago.

"The national average closed the week by climbing to yet another fresh seven year high, as the price of oil continues to drag gas prices along for the wild ride, leaving motorists on empty," Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, said. "With OPEC holding back oil production and strong global oil demand, the situation will no doubt pave the road with even higher gas prices in the weeks ahead. Until several bottlenecks ease, including supply chains and low global inventories of oil, natural gas and coal, we'll be stuck feeling the pinch of rising oil and gasoline prices.

"The bad news is that for now, all I see is the upward trend at the pump continuing into the weeks ahead with no sign of relief just yet."

    Thanks Bush

    But seriously.

Fox says that presidents are clearly responsible/not responsible for gas prices. Time stamp 2:20 for fun

"No president has the power to increase or lower gas prices"

"You got a booming global economy competing for gas. China and India"

"Tough for this president because he really doesn't have any control as to whats going to happen with the markets and the economy and the oil prices and the supply and demand of gasoline, it really is out of this presidents hands"

"Next time you hear a politician say he or she will bring down oil and gas prices, understand its complete bullshit"

I'm glad that the media has turned on the latest drama propaganda for you to blurb about. Lets go Brandon doesn't get the views anymore? Did you buy the "I did that" stickers with your welfare checks? sale going on!!!

I copied it from a extremely left wing new outlet. The Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Are they wrong? The person they were interviewing is a expert in fuel prices. Runs a APP called GASBUDDY. BTW your wrongness has this country turning into another Russia. Why do you want that? I mean if it was so wonderful why the fuck why did you come here?

Democrats were paying us a lot of money to come here illegally by the bus/airplane load. Can't say no to a bargain.

Nobody argued that what you have said is wrong. Prices are up. I simply clarified and added to it.

What are you saying that I'm wrong about? Unless you can explain yourself, you're wrongly accusing me by saying that I'm wrong.

Oh fun fact, nothing made me more than "at home in soviet Russia" than the last 4 years. Felt very reminiscent of Putin, just dumber and with his hands tied by Democracy.
