I've always had some heart burn over this, 100% due to his inability to name a foreign leader or know what Aleppo is. I don't know if this is a mainstream fallacy, but it resonates with me and I do not want to vote for him because of it. This bothers me more than emails but not more than Trumps hatred.

Despite HRC's past, she is the most qualified presidential candidate we have ever had. I understand that the actual qualifications for president are incredibly minor (age and citizen requirements) but you know what I mean and can go buzz off if you want to argue semantics on this one.

Johnson's believes are almost spot on to my beliefs. Sadly, I do not believe that he has the social skills to lead this country. The president needs to be the face of this country and needs to be involved and up to speed on all domestic and foreign matters. Johnson isn't there. Maybe its his choice, maybe its a lack of preparedness, or maybe its just choking up. None of these are a valid excuse.

I want to vote for Johnson. I just can't.
I cannot vote for Trump. It won't happen. No need to go into why, its been covered.
I do not want to vote for HRC. No need to go into why, its been covered.

A year ago, what really scared me was the thought of Bernie Sanders...right now I'm thinking could live with 4 years of him. What I would really like to see is a republican with the bravado of Sanders. If you put some of Trumps ideas in the mouth of Bernie Sanders...that would be an influential man.

I will be voting for HRC.

I'm not sure how BS they were. I've watched both interviews. I gave him the benefit of the doubt after the Aleppo incident. I have a text message chain proving it...but then he could not name a foreign leader he respected, then he got baited into being unable to name any foreign leader in a matter of seconds. He got outwitted in an interview.

I make a living being able to BS my way out of a situation I don't know the answer too....and I'm in finance. If a politician cannot answer a question as simple as one of those that caught up Johnson, or at least buy themselves a little time to come up with the answer, it is a bad sign for how they will handle the pressure they will be under as President.

In theory, a presidents policies should be the most important attribute, but I put a heavier weight on being able to hold an intelligent, meaningful conversation on absolutely any topic someone brings up. Its a skill that most people don't have. I definitely don't have it. I'm not running for office. HRC isn't all that great at it either. She tends to change the conversation when she doesn't have an answer (usually she comes back to it) but at least she says friggen something. I've not seen everything, but I've yet to seen her as painfully outwitted as Johnson was on 2 occasions in close proximity to one another...HRC also managed to keep it civil when Mary J Blige sang straight into her face for 5 minutes. That was impressive.

I'm not saying my view is right or wrong. It just happens to be my view. I wish I could vote for Johnson. The dude skis Tuckermans and has climbed the seven friggen summits! I could hang out with this guy and the both of us could forget the name of foreign leaders together over a bottle of cheap whiskey. I just don't want that guy I'm shooting the headwall with to be President, I want to shoot the headwall with him.

Re: Presidential voting - Who and Why and Poll

Initially I was disgusted, ashamed and enraged to witness the rise of Trump and HRC as our only real options for POTUS. However, I'm relatively convinced the presidency is largely just entertainment to keep us distracted while the true powers shepherd the world into a future of mindless automatons while sucking our planet and population of all useful resources. The distribution of wealth and the power it entails makes it questionable to consider the possibility that the general population has anything but an illusory role in the future of our society.

As such, and for a brief moment, I considered voting for Trump simply for entertainment and the slim possibility that a tail phenomenon would shake the system. This contradicted my previous position that a female president would set an important precedent despite some flaws, but the flaws are clearly deep, bottomless chasms.

Considering the fact that I think I'm being facetious, and after a reluctant period of rational thought, I've decided they are both unworthy and will likely vote Johnson.

But, in my heart of hearts, there is clearly only one True choice: Kenny motherfucking Powers.

Very sorry to admit that I held my nose and voted against the great orange one. NH is just too close to call in the polls and predictions for me to chance a 3rd party vote. But I really wanted to.

I tried to throw her a Republican Senator and a Libertarian House rep. I doubt the House rep will stick, but the Senator might. Maybe offer some ying against Hillarys yang.

I went to vote at about 11 AM, hoping to miss the morning, lunch and afternoon rushes. The place was mob'ed. My town checks in by last name and there are lines depending on which range your name falls into. Two lines were out the door. Fortunately my line was only 5-6 people deep. And there was enormous turnout for same-day registration. Shuttle vans were pulling up and unloading piles of people. Pretty impressive for my town of 14 or 15k. We have a university here and many students claim residency and vote here. So my town's demographics look very different this time of year vs all summer. I expect my town to go 110% Democrat, without exception.

If Johnson loses NH by exactly one vote, and then either H or T wins the electoral college by less than 4 votes, I will frown at you. It will be all your fault.

If I had voted any other way and trump won NH, I would have frowned at me. Me frowning at me is way worse than you frowning at me. And worse than either is a trump presidency.

And legitimately; it ain't gunna go that way. No way. You know it an I know it. Johnson is going to lose NH by a lot more than 1 vote.

What sucks is the polls I'm seeing suggest Johnson will pull down 4.9% of the popular. I would have liked to have been part of an extra 0.1% there.

Re: Presidential voting - Who and Why and Poll

I really wanted to give the one of the other parties a chance. And despite all the bullshit that gets posted on Fb, there election widget was pretty nice.

So I spent some time looking though my town's ballot, and researching who was on it.

Basically I came away with, that the other party guys were wackjobs. The lib guy whole's campaign was about legal weed. Like come-on can, you at least talk about something else.

A lot of small things irked me. Like if you running for an office and your official facebook face has only one shitty photo of you that was clearly cut out of another photo as least be clean shaven and not look like a fucking loser. I had a myspace page in 2004 that looked better than these sites.

Then on one of the pages, you can see what people are posting about a candidate, and I was able to find the guys personal page, his fucking cover photo was a half naked Asian chick posing with a fish, (as the guy had a fishing lure company on the side) like would it kill you to change your photo to anything, an American flag, a family photo, even the family dog would have been a better choice.

Also some of these websites were fucking terrible, how fucking hard is it to at least look polished.

And finally, being able to see what people were posting about the candidates was eye opening as you can see for yourself what people are saying. And jesus fuck these people scare me.

Yeah, that often happens in one-party states. The reasonable people quit banging their heads against the wall, and only the nutjobs care enough to keep going.

Many years ago, In CA, I lost patience and quit bothering with the state Libertarian Party. In CA, even the Republicans are basically a "third party" with little chance of influencing much, much less anyone else having a chance. The CA LP had devolved into agitating about cigarettes and pet ferrets, as if those are anywhere near the major liberty issues of CA.

That was a big part of the point of moving to NH for me -- the purpose of the Free State Project is to get enough libertarians in one place to be rationally able to have effects, and so therefore it would make actual sense for rational libertarians to get involved. Yeah, the FSP definitely still has its fair share (or more) of nutcases, but they aren't the ones leading the fight anymore. The FSP leadership, and the FSP members that have been elected to office, have been and are sane and decent and competent humans. It's very refreshing.

I voted for Govs. Johnson & Weld.

Voted against the gaming slots license, against the charter school expansion, for the farm containment prohibition, for the marijuana expansion (you're welcome, potheads!) and for question 5.

Interestingly my name was no longer on the roll, so I had to do a provisional ballot affirmation, which means I get hand-counted like the boss I know I am

He's terrible at on-the-spot questions. You can almost hear his brain freeze while he mentally stumbles in circles for a bit while he works it out. And I'm pretty okay with that. I have a hard time believing many important decisions need to be made so quickly. Meanwhile, Trump and Clinton have a team of people prepping them on what the questions might be (and in Clinton's case, she was even given some of the questions in advance). I don't understand the emphasis on the ability to pass a pop-quiz. I get that value, but especially in the current circumstances, I think it's ranked way too high.

I wonder why there's so many Johnson voters here. Do motorcyclists tend to lean libertarian or anti-establishment?
