    Re: Trump

It runs up fast, it drops fast. Just like the politicians want to take credit for the good, everyone wants to use the bad to blame who they want to blame. If you want to throw darts here, take a look at who is moving the markets. It isn't the pols, they are simply the goats.

Symptom of the surge in our economy and demand for foreign goods?

Any moves to help reduce trade deficit are coming much too slowly.

As a country, we are probably always going to run a trade deficit.

With our govt it’s never that simple. I wish it were that easy.
Those money grubbing fucks will always be dipping their hand into whatever pile accumulates to pay for something else, regardless of how legislation was written to protect it.

Basically, the right wing response to that is, "But it would mean higher taxes on the rich and would only help, not solve, the problem!".

Reads like textbook whataboutism to me.

Although in this case I sort of agree with one of the points; that heath-care needs to be addressed first. The SS benefit looks mighty fine compared to the health-care situation. What good is SS/medicare if you die and/or are completely wiped out by health costs by age 55?!?

    Re: Trump

I agree that those things should be fixed, but it's kind of a bad argument from the Right's perspective. I mean, if you fix healthcare, people will live longer, which means Social Security will need even MORE money.
