Meticulous or not, it's an old gen bike, and there's a lot of them out there.

I just bought the same bike in an 2009 version about a month ago. Got a good deal I think (friend of a friend deal, but also December and motivated seller): titled, previously road registered in mass, electric start, rekluse clutch, suspension revalved for woods, every guard imaginable, Scott's steering stabilizer, great shape, $2500. If I were selling it on Craigslist in the spring, I would definitely ask quite a bit more. In other words, Chip's numbers are in the ballpark for an older one.

I've ridden it both woods and mx so far. I love it, it's freaking awesome. I would need it stiffer for pure mx at a rough track like Southwick, but I don't want that and it's perfect for woods as is. I don't know the differences between mine and an 04, but for all around offroad use, two enthusiastic thumbs up.
