Last year I got the chance to ride with a bunch of you down in WV on the annual dirt Sausagefest, so I bought a KTM 300XCW at the last minute for the trip. The bike was awesome but a fuckin beast for my non dirt riding self. I sold it to Jersey (Chris Orcutt) and started hunting down a KDX hoping it would better suit my skills. I found this 2001 in MA and brought it home in January. It was in pretty good shape for the year and I honestly had no big plans for it, just ride it to get back into the dirt game and then move back up into a KTM/BETA/Husky. Well, we all know how that goes. 7 months and countless dollars later, I've pretty much rebuilt the bike from the ground up. The only thing that wasn't done was powder coating the frame, otherwise every single bolt, nut, bearing, etc was replaced. It has a KX125 front end, top to bottom engine rebuild by Ken O'Connor, Warp9 wheels (with custom made spacers to fit by our very own Adam Butler), hydro clutch, etc. etc.
The parts list is a mile long, but in the end I have essentially a brand new KDX with a slew of modern bits! I can't wait to take this thing down to the Hatfield trails this year.
