    Re: 2006 ttr125

Not as desirable because small wheel version has drum front.

Usually it's a carb when it doesn't run, but if it's not you might find yourself underwater on it.

Ttr has more power and xr always had a drum front.

Ttr didn't change ever through production really. They were pretty much all the same except for the difference between the ttr125 and the ttr125l.

    Re: 2006 ttr125

The choke design on those carbs is garbage, and they are incredibly cold blooded. Disassemble the choke from the carb and clean it periodically, they tend to freeze up with gunk and can be a pain in the ass to fix. Jetting helped mine be less difficult to start but didn't make any noticeable performance difference.

On the plus side, wheelies for miles on that little thing!!

Is a disk conversion (with forks) a direct bolt on?

I know someone pulling the disk brake forks from a ttr to go to a yz85 front end

And I have an ultrasonic cleaner so I will see how bad the carb issues are

Also saw from TT that it's a soft built bike...dunno if it's best for #bikelife#wheelies or an adult hooning on it... already broke the kickstart lever

Will start with the basics, fresh plug, tank of gas, presumably clogged petcock, and charge the battery

Don't worry about it, they are tanks. I'd rip wheelies on it all the time, never broke anything (I'm 230 lbs) Even did a couple MX laps on it for giggles. I don't recommend that.

    Re: 2006 ttr125

I wouldn't put much into the small wheel. Get it running, sell it for a few bucks, buy either an L or LE. Or get a real mini and buy a YZ 80/85.

    Re: 2006 ttr125

The more I look into it, the more that is the consensus...the cost of converting to the L setup (forks/rim, swingarm/rim) is better spent on a yz85. Swapping just the front for the brake requires the rim to swap too...and will make it "sit like a chopper" so I am gonna stick with the drums

I've had 2 CR80 mini supermotos...rm85...and ns50...kinda done with 2 stroke mini's...just want a fart bike that's easy to ride and less dangerous to whoolie

Gonna keep it stock and just get it running

Not sure what options are on the TTR, but the XR100 comes with a 16" rear wheel. You can swap in an XR80 front wheel which is also 16" and rock a set of BT-45's and sumo on the cheap.

Clean the carb, ride the shit out of it, sell it for more than you paid for it. We've had a couple TTR125's for the wife. Big wheel is for sure better, but the smalls are fine too. They're cold blooded and the carbs get gross easy. Not a performance machine, but does its job well.

    Re: 2006 ttr125

I have had a couple XR100's and an XR80... between exporting and mini Moto the Craigslist price in socal has sky rocketed....$800-$1,200 for a 15 year old 100cc 8hp bike

Crazy...I bought them for $400...$550...and sold them for $650 and $700 (in sumo trim)... should have kept them, waited a couple years, then sold for $1,000

TTR has a 17" front and 14" rear...the front is super narrow so most good tires won't fit well. Couple cheap barracudas or other scooter tires with a change at home is all I am willing to invest in it
