watched the races w' a family that was raised racing MX and they told me that instead of watching live races in person, just watch the races on TV (the view is better), and to take in the full experience of the live event (sponsors, getting autographs, etc.) - just get a pit pass (normally $10...or if you bring a monster energy can for recycling, you get in free), and spend the day at the stadium in the pits to check out the sponsors, see the riders, and watch the practice races (although - do a pit pass get you in to see the practice races? or do you need race tickets?). They told me that people actually setup at 9am in the parking lot with their RV and just drink all day LOL

Pieke punching Friese in the head was *Awesome*. It reminded me of motocross in the '70's, when men were men. Ralph, Fro, and Ricky played it down, but it will probably be used for advertising SX in the future...

My only wish for this season was that the riders who went out with long term injuries or other reasons last year, stayed on the track this year,... Then Stewart goes out without even getting a single lap in. WTF!

I never followed supercross too serious, but I just watched the 250 and 450 main. This sport is sweet, it could very easily be the next thing I spend way to much money on.

Real cool to see Decotis in the top 5, the dude I've had the pleasure to see rip up the same local practice track that I spent too much of my childhood riding and occasionally running from the cops at. I've always seen him in the moto movies, but didn't know he was riding at this level of motorcross too. Again, I've always been quite removed from this sport, so if this is nothing knew I apologize for my excitement.

Not sure what he did, he was his usual self with a good attitude. The incident with JS7 was an accident, nothing dirty or intentional about that.

It did suck seeing JS7 go out that way though, I never did follow up on if/any injuries?

Latest I saw was that he was knocked out and there is the potential of a concussion. Haven't seen anything but that.

I know it's racing, but I figure there racers have a certain level of respect for the people around you, and the line Dungey took off the triple and the way he was steering when he landed was pretty much a "well I'm gonna hit him, he can deal with it" sorta thing w' Bubba!

nah, Dungey is a pretty squeaky clean racer, to his detriment really, it was just two lines meeting. those bowl turns were tight

It won't take long watching for you to learn the difference between clean passing causing an incident vs dirty passing causing an incident.
Lets just be thankful there is no Repsol/Honda team in SX, then the actions could be "played" out differently

Note that when someone gets taken out in a corner it isn't referred to as being "Dungey'd" However if you were to ask around the SX world what it meant to be "Friese'd" I would bet a lot of people would understand what you were getting at.

RDs body language going into that turn said it all, he got in there with a plan...that was NOT the plan. JS7 just pivoted and RD5 found himself on a collision course. if RD5 couldve stopped and checked on JD7 i have no doubt he wouldve. i actually felt worse for RD5 in that crash. i originally thought that RD5 came up short on the triple and couldnt get it stopped because the rear was in the air
as far as the WP/VF conflict goes, i think VFs actions in the the first heat race were worse than the semi. he ran WP wide for no reason and in doing so let CR22 by and made no forward progress.
in the semi it looked like a legit block pass that just went horribly wrong. WP shouldve kept his cool. if he went to the stewards after the race VF might be the one with the suspension or at least double secret probation.
i know RC said we only see VFs moves when hes on camera but lets be honest. aggressive riding is what makes this sport great. Bam Bam didnt get that nickname by asking for permission to pass riders. RC was no saint either and thats how he became the GOAT. maybe VF needs to be checked but i dont think WP shouldve done that on the track. it drew all the attention away from VFs (alleged) questionable riding and placed it soley on his temper tantrum.
i hope JS is back next week
