Beta 200RR
Let me know when you pick it up and we’ll go for a rip.
I’ll probably have my YZX for sale after Beta announces the 2020s Monday.

YASSSS
great to hear he loves it, i think every single review i've read has been positive. i still love the 250 to death but the downsized frame and motor should be crazy fun around New England.
burn in any new trails yet?
awesome. were you able to demo the bikes when Beta was out here?
oh, SNAP!can't wait to see the 2020's
.....
bike will be in Mon/Tues next week.. . frothing.

That 200 does look tasty

I like 200's
i've read the bike has great torque for a 'small bore' but it's interesting that Beta supplies the US with a 15T countershaft sprocket (49T rear) and the EU with a 14T ... then i read they swapped the CS on all the US demo bikes with a 13T to help the motor really shine in singletrack. owers here have been comparing the 15T to 14T but seem to really like the 15/49 combo. odd, but encouraging that the small motor can pull that gearing so well.
i will be running 13/49 right outta the gates, think it will better suit our regular terrain (run 13/50 on the 250) ... will also remove the oil injection system, no need for the extra swizz.

Interesting. I would have figured those gears were way too long(?) for a 200. Does it have a really narrow ratio gearbox?
Didn't you just finish getting your 250 squared away? You're going to back to square one. But I can deff see the 200's being a popular NE woods bike.

It may just have really short primary gearing...
I'm pretty sure I am running 14/49 right now on the KTM 200 XC. (This is a 200 XC-W with the 150 XC 1st and 6th cogs swapped in.) I like it a lot, although have trouble getting the front end to lift. I suck at wheelies and could use some (more) help from the gearing here.. or moar wheelie practice.
I bought it from a NETRA fast/fast-ish guy who had it geared higher. I flamed out a lot in the rock gardens and such before re-gearing.
It does tap out quickly if trying to connect on roads. 50-55 is asking a lot.
I'd expect a newer machine to pull tall gearing better.
This is the most critical review I have found of the Beta 200:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsk5s3mM9YU
Alden, yes, i did just go through the 250 completely but i will be swapping over a bunch of stuff which helps bridge the gap.
Josh, no clue yet, but after i read Beta was swapping in the 13T for demos, figured it was a no-brainer to try. if it's too much, i'll try 14T.
Colin, think i read that 14/49 was pretty popular with the Orange 200s ... i've also read this motor is very different than the older KTMs regarding power![]()

Beta 200RR
thanks, Greg, he's been creating some good content, i'm a subscriber
regarding his 'ugly list', i'll be doing the same that i did with the 250, stripping all the unnecessary stuff: lights, computer, switches, oil injection, thermostat, etc. and eventually simplify the entire harness. i've been through it twice now so should be fairly straight forward.
the clutch cover design doesn't make me warm 'n fuzzy but i assume Polisport or P3 will start making covers soon if not already. his 72 hour homemade plate is kinda hilarious, there isn't one scratch on it.![]()

Was about to ask on fb how many ccs. They say they 150 is the new 200.
That your partners? You are still riding a yz right?
Yes, it's my partners new ride. I was very surprised how much torque it has for such a small engine..I'm impressed.
I still have the YZ 250x, it's really the perfect bike for me.
We will be cutting new single track trails this fall, excited to finally get more serious about riding dirty again
