The plan was to meet at the Mt Misery parking area at 9am to ride the NETRA Pachaug loop. I was expecting it to be muddy, slick and very wet from the thunderstorms we got yesterday.
Sean, Leah, Todd and myself getting ready in the lot.
We were on time in off we went! Gravity was strong today as it pulled at least three of us to the ground a time or two within the first few miles. It was a bit slick but not anything like what I was expecting.
The powerline trail bit Sean and he and Leah chose to call it a day early. Hope you're OK Sean
Rest stop after the ledge section of the powerline trail
Leah chose the best line on this one
Once we got to the main road, Sean and Leah went back to load up. Todd and I continued on. Sean was the leader so it was up to us to try and follow the arrows now. The loop is pretty well marked now so it wasn't much of an issue.
I needed a rest after the ledge step-up trail, just glad knowone was behind me to see my awesome form in that section!
The picture doesn't really do it any justice, it's actualy not all that bad as long as you stay on the gas.
Because we followed the arrows and started from the middle of the loop, we ended up at the parking lot at Spaulding and Dow rd, no biggie, just added a few more miles.
Back on track and heading for the mud sections and the Shetucket Turnpike. Remember that big water spot we went around last weekend KB? The easiest line was through the water! Fun stuff.
I had a few more gravity issues in various sections and had enough for one day. Todd and I broke off from the loop at Rt 165 and took that back to 49 and onto Headquarters Rd.
36 miles total and we were loaded shortly after noon time.
Next time we were thinking starting were we left off today?
Good day, thanks for leading what you did Sean and hope you're feeling better.
I cleaned the bike when I got home today, it looks a bit more used after today Hopefully next time there will be no gravity issues
