Why I am sore; you do the math.

Nice day today, had 20 bikes at my house, some really talented riders of all ages.

    I have a 2 mile MX Track,

    I rode 40 miles today.

There are 30 jumps on the track.

    2 goes into 40, 20 times + 20 laps,

    x 30 jumps =600 jumps.

That's why I am going to be sore!

Wow, 30 jumps in 2 miles? Sounds interesting. How long does it take to do a lap? Is it wide or single track?

Thumped one - how many acres does your 'track' occupy? Looks like we're buying a 10.5 acre parcel out in the middle of no where and wondering what type of layout we can get outta it...

Sweet Jay. 10 acres is enough for a very nice sized track. It won't be huge, but if you lay it out well, it'll be more than entertaining. When you get there, I'd gladly help with that!

Better get your shovel ready, son. We've offered and now countered her counter offer. Actually, whatever I do needs to be rideable for horses too. Ain't just my land ya know...

Hmmm... sounds like we'll be flattracking! And shovels for 10 acres!? I was gonna say, make sure to budget in a used bobcat.

Come help me build my track once I get settled in...though I'm thinking a trials bike may fit the bill more beter The plan is the build a woods MX track, got 13.3 dry acres to get the job done

we have just shy of 3 acres, with a house, lawn and driveway on the majority, I still managed to make a mini track in the wooded section, if I remember correctly 1 lap is just shy of 1/2 mile.
So yeh, 10 or 13 acres can produce quite the trail network.

We're thinking about 2-3 miles of trails. Plus the property's surrounded by discontinued, non-maintaned class VI roads...

Looks like some nice land Jay

You should be able to get quite a bit more that 2-3 miles of trails on 10 acres if you spend a little time laying it out. I'm hoping to get a 10 mile loop on my land (it works on paper and the numbers say it can happen). Just the property line trail is just over 3/4 mile

I live near Burlington, it is on 11 acres and the track is on every inch of it. I also have a small woods section for my kids to get used to banging trees.

After some back and forth offers, she accepted what we told her was our high bid. Instead of totally hijacking this thread:

    OT,
    Sa-weet...

    Stoneman,
Nice looking woods roads... my favorite. Technical single track is a blast but I'm gettin' old too...

Both of you guys are doing more than I ever did. I always said I was going to build a track but just never got my shit together. We border a powerline too so lot of my Son's early years were tested and skills honed out there...

    Have fun,
    rad
