Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
I suppose that depends on whether a suitable venue can be had.... and whether it's on private property or not (won't have paperwork done for then)

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
This cold snap looks to hold on til Sunday. This is crap cause im free this weekend. It's possible we could ride, but wet and cold aren't my favorite combo

That was sort of my thinking.... which is a bummer as I leave for a couple of weeks shortly after so I won't get to ride this thing till May!

Congrats on the bike! Maybe when I'm grown up I'll get something that nice.
I think you should let the Italian Princess have a bachelorette party with us before you two get hitched.:tagteam:

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
You gonna street reg this thing? My read is that you can.. :bananna:

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
I will surely be trying to... wondering if I can get it done in MA or have to go the VT route.

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
I'm sure dave will know, and can give you some guidance. I'm pretty sure he dominates at the enduros, which require street reg.

Looks like dry and high "real feel" of 52 out that way, but looks dry / overcast. Def. nippy but not god awful. What you thinkin?

You sir, are lacking in insulation. Although I may not be factoring in wind chill, depending on pace.

Correct. I lack any built in insulation, as well as gear for cold weather mudfests.

What's the verdict on this thing?

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
It's like a modernized KDX. Very cool. Probably the best bike for all around new england woods riding.

Re: Beta Xtrainer - Entry level 300cc 2T Enduro
Just want to thank Paul again for being my jedi master full of patience while I fumbled my way through. I think it took me over an hour just to assemble the gear on myself properly. Got my first jump, albeit with feet falling off the pegs and my nuts getting a serious how-are-ya, felt what it's like to have your front wheel go wherever the f*ck it wants in the sand, folding on itself almost every time in, I think I felt a couple rear wheel spins and went through plenty of water. Things I have not done yet: crash / bin it, attain any sort of lean angle, wheelie it, stoppie it, jump it with any sense of purpose, or stick a landing. I also have not managed to get over a log more than maybe 4" in diameter.... those 5" ones sure are a bugger...
Oh another thing I can check off: having the feeling of utter incompetence watching Paul rip it on the track. Dear lord, that seems so unattainable....

It's totally attainable.
Grats on the new whip.

It's not. This goes to anyone riding Offroad not just you, Scott. If the me of two or three years ago saw the me of today on the trail I would think I'd never be able to ride like that. It comes pretty quick with practice, and confidence. The gains will come in leaps and bounds until you get to a B level racer or so. Things you do now and trails you struggle with early will seem like child's play in a matter of months. Don't let other riders abilities smother your drive to ride, use them as goals for yourself.
