Is a bill of sale enough????

Anybody??? It seems that everbody that is selling a used dirt bike never has the original paper work. So, is the "bill of sale" enough???

    Thanks,
    Nathan

Is a bill of sale enough????

A bill of sale signed by the buyer and seller with the vehicle description and the VIN should be enough to make the sale legal and allow the buyer to register for OHRV.

    Hey Nathan, what's up?
What kinda bike/quad you looking at?
Offroad vehicles come with a Certificate Of Origin and not titles just to clear up any confusion.
Do you need to have the CO? probably not but depending on how much you pay for the vehicle would depend if you would want the CO or not. Not having it "could" make resale more of a hassle as well.

Personaly, without the original paperwork, i just walk away (unless it's from someone i know)

In Ma. they take your MSO/COO when you reg, along with that cool bill of sale from the dealership (if new). Thus the seller may not have it, and a bill of sale is fine so long as the VIN# isn't on file elsewhere.

It is a good idea to unreg. a dirtbike when you are going to sell though...for future reference. Will make it much easier on future owners.

I think it's different for you cause you're from "down there"...so you do all your tax stuph when you buy etc.

But I dunno either, I just know I did not want to relinquish the MSO for my 450 and the girl is like "you can have the MSO back along with the rest of your paperwork, including your check..." ??
