Blew up the KTM this afternoon - just riding it around my yard for shits and giggles - cranked on it real hard and it just died on me. Went to kick her back to life and it had no compression whatsoever, bummed out big time with the fall riding season here.

Which Katoom do you have?
it's a 2-smoker, quick, cheap and easy to fix. There's still almost 2 months of perfect dirtbike weather left..then it's ice. Get it to work

[noob]that sucks...and I hate that the maintenance schedule of an MX bike says to rebuild it around this time
"just died' is also suspicious to me...if it was a worn out engine or top end, wouldn't it feel like it was losing power, then stall, and then turn over without compression?[/noob]
but otoh, roughly how many hours did you have on it?

2 strokes will often "just die" and then have no compression. For some reason, it happens that way. Easy enough to fix.

I seem to remember someone telling him when he bought it to do the top end!
It was rattling a little when he got it, previous owner hadn't done it during his ownership.
Guessing a dropped ring or holed piston as he can turn it by hand!

2004 125SX - Fun little bike
It needed a rebuild, but I've never rebuilt one before so I was trying to get through the fall with it so I could take my time over the winter.
You're a whole lot of help![]()
THAT - would be silly.![]()

You're a whole lot of helpQUOTE]
That I am!
Who else fixes oyur bikes and gives you beer??
With a KDX or a 250/300 you could wait around, but a 125 only lasts 20-40 hours max. Wait and pay for it.
I have a fresh cylinder and head I'll sell you for 400 total if you damaged those parts.
btw, order the 2 ring piston from an EXC125.
and it might not be as silly as you think. If the owner never did a top end, the bottom end could let go, thin you out more than the cost of my bike, and mine is better in every way. There was an update I did to the bottom end when mine failed that will prevent the big blow up I had.
If you need anything else, or tips on rebuilding let me know.
