been scouring the US for a new leftover but found a sick deal on a 2009 w/zero hour 125cc top end plus these goodies i was already budgeting for:
- 144cc kit (which i may bore to 167cc, wOoT!)
- FMF fatty pipe
- FMF silencer
- race shop jetting (the TMX 38mm is a bitch)
- F+R suspension revalved for 175lb woods rider
- all new plastics
- new grips
- Enduro Engineering handguards (anybody want these?)
- skid plate
- new tires
- new brake pads
- minty-minty fresh throughout
this thing is gonna be like a mountain bike with a motor! so pumped![]()

SICK!!! I'm jealous. I want.
Sling me some info on the hand guards, and congrats!
TMX38 on a 125?! My 265 is breathing through a VM38...
oh, yeah, the TMX 38 sounds like a very sensitive carb, have you had good luck? most are moving to the Keihin PWK and having better luck on this bike.
i'm gonna try it with the worked over jetting and throw a PowerNow on it. see if the bottom end is where i want.
EDIT: oops, read that wrong, glossed over the VM38

i like those things. from a sideshot they look like they have NO engine in them. grip it and rip it.

Close your eyes, look deep in your soul, step outside yourself and let your mind go.
Only TMX experience I have is TMX48s on big cubic inch Harleys. I had great luck with the TM24 back in the day on my weedy widdle four strokes? If you're going to be boring that cylinder get it ported at the same time. That should help with carb signal at low revs. I had Eric Gorr do up my WR250 top end and am VERY pleased with the results.
Nice, congrats Clinton
Will you be able to get a street plate for it?
Yamaha
i don't have to swing through HUGE altitude changes so i think it may work OK for me. temp changes may be another issue though. i've done tons of research on this bike and have lots of stuff documented. the big break-through was using an RM needle in it. that solved a lot. the power valves also need tweaking but i'm mapping out my big or bigger-bore plans.
i can either BB the OEM 125cc and get the PVs ground down for perfect fit, or, a well know builder is just starting to experiment with BBing the OEM 144 to a 167. he's already been doing 167s for years, just not with the newer cyl.
Eric Gore was used early on but Uptite Racing is who I'd like to use, proven performance mods for Huskies.
this thing should end up being a little tractor with some minor work. the 144 alone is a huge improvement and has great torque so i'll prob just work over one of the cylinders to have some options to test.
head work will be done by RB Designs in Oregon

for now I'm just going to renew my MA yellow plate and hit the usual spots, then add a NH reg... def would open up more areas if I can go fully plated but I'll prob ride Oxford a lot at first since it's so close.
been almost 2 seasons since I've ridden any sort of trails so it's all going to be fun
