    Re: Braking bumps

Weight centered. Balls of your feet should be on the pegs with your knees gripping the tank. You will want to be in the attack position. It is key to hold on with your legs and stay as loose as possible on the bars while braking through large braking bumps. One trick to braking bumps. Often times you can charge a little deeper into the turn and do most of your braking beyond the worst of the bumps. Often times the bumps form up early on entry into the turn. If you can stay neutral or on the gas through them the front suspension can deal with them much better than on the brakes.

Yeah, great post Rada. And the bumps are often so sharp that the slow you quite a bit even on neutral throttle.

Yeah, I notice they form usually a bit sooner than Id brake, so Im not usually hard on the brakes through them.

Damn four strokes downshifting and making a mess of the entrances to turns...

    do what I do...

come into a turn too hot, hit the braking bumps and just wipe out

Refresh the suspension, then realize that an XR100 at a MX track is like my GS at Loudon... it's not possible to enter T1 'too hot' on it without JATO assist.

No, it's not worth it, it's an xr100. Neutral weight, transitioning fwd for the corner.

I didn't say replace, I said refresh. New fluids, replace sloppy bushings, repack or replace bearings as appropriate.
