FUKKIN A!!!
Aight, so we didn't end up going to Rocky Hill, but we did get on an MX track.
Alex brought his ttr125 and his CR125. I tooled around for a bit on the ttr to get used to the dirt, then hopped on the CR which was a world of difference. I didn't really keep it revved up, but then again i wasn't goin too fast... basically left it in 2nd gear around the whole track, poppin into 3rd and 1st occationally but most of the time i left it in 2nd... even if i slowed way down i just goosed the throttle & feathered the clutch to get goin again. There WERE some pretty tight turns so i got an idea of how it would handle trails riding & i'm sure it'll be fine.
I did dump the ttr once when i got too high in a burm & slowed down too much... just kinda fell over, but that was it. Kept it up on two the whole rest of the time.
We only rode for about an hour, but that was plenty to let me know I like what i'm gonna be gettin into Even did my first dirt jump on a MX bike & cleared a little 10 foot tabletop. The last time I jumped somethin on dirt on two wheels I ended up on my head w/ a nice little concussion & lots of bloddy scrapes & bruises, so that was fun to do again
Alex brought his camera & we got some pics so those will get posted up later when he gets home. If the ones I got of Alex are in focus, I got some damn good ones of him boostin over some pretty big jumps.
So... looks like i'll be adding another toy to the toybox soon![]()

If all you think trails are are tight turns, You've got a BIG BIG surprise coming... especially New England trails
Sounds like you had some fun though![]()

What I mean was... there's steep hills & tight turns in the woodsie lands.... and there was a little of both... so i got a hint of an idea how it'd go

Yeah, out in the trail world it's ROCKS and wet leaves, etc. that make life interesting. On a two-stroke that you really need to keep revving, it can be a handful. I'm sure you can get good at managing those sections on a two-stroke, but the learning curve will be steeper than a thumper...
The fist size rock trails are the ones that suck for me on a 2 smoker.
I've heard that the KTM 125 can handle the lower revs better than most.
haha. Nah man, that was NOTHING like actually tight woods trail riding... trust meh.Originally posted by OreoGaborio

Yup, there are some steep hills and tight spots in the trails, but just as you hit that steep part all these babyheads pop up.... then when you clear the babyhead, there's a downed tree across the trail...on a angle.... with a root just past that... also at a angle. Sometimes you even get babyheads, roots and downed trees all in the same section of steep, uphill, very tight single track that's just wide ennough for your handlebars to pass throughOriginally posted by a13x

My 8yo will smoke you on an XR70.......his little sister may just be even faster than Alex, she grabs the throttle and twists it yelling "faster daddy!" when I give her rides.

That is a pretty sweet bike. You'll love riding dirt man. It's soooo much fun.
I'm not so much a fan of the track, that shit hurts when you eat it.
Nice work

where is that?
And also, are you wearing slacks?![]()
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I need to get my dirtbike running.
K.B, I bet you can't get my bike running right.
Its pretty messed up.....I bet only a supermechanic can get it running right again.
So I'm having some people over Saturday night and you and Jenn should come down......you know hang out, have a couple drinks.
We won't work on dirtbikes or anything.

Pete's wearing:
My old Shoei FX-2 helmet circa 1996 which I donated to NU Cycling (his roommate is the President)
My beatup old Blur goggles
My beatup old Fox gloves
My Hi-Point boots circa 1994 which are 1.5 sizes too big for him
His slacks and EMS shirt
Ghettoblaster!!
That's my CR btw, not the one he 'might buy'. Mine's a 02 and I got it off Jeff Woodrow Wilson a few months back. Pete's looking at buying a 01 CR.
I like woods riding and all (did race DH mtb's for 5 years) but jumps are where it's at! Nothing like ripping thru a rythem section.
Boston --> San Diego
they're beat up old cargo pants... won't have true dirt riding pants till i buy the CR in question.... and i'm gonna buy the CR in question
Alex... what's the dude's contact info again?![]()

Nazo has a WR250 for sale at a decent price. It had a street registration in NH before he bought it. Great woods/enduro bike.

I think 12 or 14....he's been talking about selling it for 5 months now, I'm yet to see him activly try.

I never actually got the title back from the state. Something about the signatures didn't match on the bill of sale or some shit. But yeah I did have it registerd in NH on the street.Originally posted by hessogood

I did buy the bike from Bump909's buddy skeeter or ohhhhh shit now I remember it was Soooooooch as in Sucheki.
I geared it down pretty good for the woods. It's an animal in the woods.
