Yeah, that's a stopper. Funny thing is that creek looks so innocent and meager.

I love the one guy makes it with some speed then the next guy goes super slow and buries the front and flips.

Re: Would this be called a stopper?

There's a creek that I cross to get to my track, and in the spring, it's a lot like this. Innocent looking, but bike swallowing. The first time I tried it, I buried my KDX to the seat! And I didn't have anyone to help me get it out. I had to use some log/poles to lever it out of the mud, then drag it up the bank. Took me an hour and a half to extract. I considered leaving it there many times.

The guy who made it look easy approached at an angle. very counter intuitive.

I know that creek well. That river mud/clay/silt is incredibly difficult to work with. The banks are fairly short, but steep. Down by the river, is the old broken concrete "bridge" even still there?

Re: Would this be called a stopper?

If you want to race offroad over there, this is what you have to ride in. Those ditches are man made years ago for drainage. The layer of pete is 6+ feet deep..add water and a shitload of bikes and that's your result.
I crossed one similar while I was there in July, but not that extreme. When I sunk in the 2' of goopy mess, my friend said "you chose wrong line"! I looked around and laughed a bit and asked where the good line was??

Re: Would this be called a stopper?

i'll never forget a mud hole from a HS i raced in Florida, got my CR125 stuck so deep i had to yank out the front wheel first, sorta stand the bike up on the rear and rock it back and forth to try and rip it free.

i didnt care if that fucking bike broke in half i was so exhausted and pissed. getting the front wheel out alone was enough. thick mud has insane suction.

but i agree with Chip, dirt biking is all about accomplishments. most of it isn't comfy at all! cracking a brew at the end of a grueling day is about as good as it gets.
