i loved watching nationals from Carlsbad on TV as a kid, was sad when they closed it for good in '04. gnarly track, super hard dirt, fast bumpy downhills, always great racing...

Marc Peters has built a replica of Carlsbad MX and GP track from his dad Stu's original 1960's CMC blueprints up at the Ranch in Anza. The "new" track opens this weekend May 7-8 2011. More clay/dirt is being added daily to harden up the soil to get the ground more in line with the original classic track.

Yeah, cool track. I like the step up step down section. Funny how they still jumped rear wheel down style, but were starting to do little whips on certain jumps. That is one part of riding that has change a LOT.

on style, yeah, pretty cool to see the progression as the years go by. way more precision and control over jumps while upping the speed. the accuracy is just insane these days.
