    Coolest wearing dirty lid

Which is it? My ginger ass doesn't do too well in the heat, AND. I ground a good portion of the shell of my lid down in the wrentham tubes crashing like a goon AND my bday/Father's Day is coming.

I'm guessing the contenders are the spendy ones:
    The airoh aviator
    Suomy mr jump
    Vemar vrx9

    Who's worn what??

    Re: Coolest wearing dirty lid

I have the mr jump. I don't know if it the coolest of those three, but it is the LIGHTEST helmet I have ever put my head in. At first I thought, I don't need it that light, but after wearing it I can say light is better than cool for me! So much less neck strain and fatigue.

It ventilates well once under way, but I assume that the airoh is the coolest lid out there.

My friend from Finland says the the Airoh is popular over there for the very reason you're looking for, flows a lot of air and helps keep you cool. Second hand info of course, but I'd trust his word if I were looking.

    Word.
Also, that klim f4 seems to garner attention for the same reason.

Lol. The second tube (running the same way as the tr) was full of 4-5" rocks. Like marbles. I started to bobble, hit the side, and tried to right it without letting off...because, you can't really fall all the way over in a 6' pipe. I dragged my helmet along the side of it pretty forcefully for about 10' till I finally stopped and made it real again.
Laughing like a schoolgirl the entire way of course.

Here's a duh question. What is the difference between a motocross helmet and a dual sport helmet?

Dual sport helmets usually has a flip up shield similar to a street helmet, where MX/offroad helmets, the area is open for regular goggles. The dualsports also have a larger space between the lid and the sun visor to allow more air flow at speed

    Re: Coolest wearing dirty lid

MX/offroad helmets completely suck above 50 or so MPH.

I bought a cheapie polycarb helmet. It's okay. I'm sure you could (and should) do better.

My beef is goggles. Pair I bought at random mash my glasses into my face. My vision isn't really bad enough to require the glasses. But I like riding with my prescription shades. I suppose I should just buy some tinted goggles and get used to aiming to miss those fuzzy, tall, skinny things that keep popping up in my way.

A little OT but if you want to wear glasses under goggles there are only a couple that are designed to go over glasses. Scott, Smith and Oakley do make them, quick Google search for OTG MX Goggles yielded some decent results.

I thought the box was empty when the helmet arrived. It's a little baffling how it can be so much lighter than the others, but I LOVE it.

I've got a Fly Racing Trophy Lite that I'm pleased with. It's got all the right safety stickers (SNELL and DOT). It doesn't hold heat and cools quickly after a stop.

Just bit the bullet and grabbed a suomy.
I forgot I had a balance in my PayPal account, and supposedly it comes with free goggles, so let the games begin.

Oakley L-frames are the only goggles I ever found that fit over glasses and didn't mash them in to my nose.

    Re: Coolest wearing dirty lid

They make otg specific goggles. I used to use them, but no matter what, I've found they fog, either the goggle, or my glasses would ALWAYS fog up.
I hate contacts, but I wear them for riding dirties. That and playing in the Nebs is the only time I wear the things.
