Thought I'd get some fun riding in before teaching MSF all weekend. I cruised out to the track, did some clearing of storm debris, rode some warmup laps, then took a little rest.
When I went to start her back up for session 2 I couldn't get the kickstarter to fold out. I mean it was locked in place, and I was cock-blocked! After tugging at it, kicking at it, swearing at it, and sweating all over it, I realized I was not gonna get too many sessions in today.
Now I'm in the center of a sandy bowl. Pushing the bike uphill is pretty tough, and bumping a 4 stroke in the sugar sand ain't easy either. After a couple tries I get her to fire, but I'm exhausted. I gear up and ride one loooong session hoping I don't crash and stall it. I survive a good 6-7 laps, and call it a day. Better than not riding, but not what I was hoping for.
I get back home and find the bolt that holds the kick starter it totally stripped. I mean threadbare, like it had been crossthreaded a million times??? The strange thing is that the threads on the kicker itself are fine.
I looks like the ball had somehow gotten out of place and gouged the kicker a little, but I don't understand that either. I mean, that's a big ball in a tight space...
