that's the one thing i hate about HVD, non directional... no biggie up top in the rocks but down low in the faster stuff it can be scary

this thread makes me wish i caught my friend Chris' last good digger on vid... complete Kung Fu Jedi Ninja shit... wave him on to pass, he sees it as an opportunity to become an A rider through this rooty section, grabs a handful of throttle, hits the pipe in a dip and literally CHUCKS his bike sideways into a tree. i'm still dying over that shit. smashed the pipe, radiator and cracked the exhaust flange. hahaa. he got lucky, could have been an upper leg breaker. quick 'n violent. :D
Motorcyclists : That class of human that laughs at others while they are in pain
WITH others, motorcyclist sees epic shit eating, points and laughs. Motorcyclist who just ate epic shit, sees vid of self, points, winces in pain and laughs.
It's only funny til we see the xrays
it's like a joke...you just gotta be there...
watching the video just isn't the same as being 5 feet away of both legs off the pegs, whiskey throttle, wheelie/superman into a cactus/tree/bushes
The tree cut me off and I couldn't stop, so I was forced to lay it down!
Other people's crashes are hysterical. Swamping a brandy new klr for no reason is still the hardest I think I've ever laughed.
Some of the same some new. Was KB on the little bike?
Ohhh SNAP, Finger
see you can use a fence to cushion a fall!!!!

That's definitely KB!!!
This is a much better compilation BTW. THanks. That fence one is priceless. And I think Isaac made a tree climbing appearance near the end???
I think the dudes head fell off at 3:29
If this thread taught me anything, its that dirtbikes are not forgiving of mistakes.
They are usually incredibly forgiving of mistakes. Huge, stupid, wtf was I thinking mistakes.
What they do is encourage you to make those mistakes much more often.
:50 is a local thing. Kid sent some jump at a jday.
There are some hard to watch moments of WTF there... Ouch...
Nice dangly finger
Saw that coming (:50) from a mile away. In the back seat on the gas on a 2stroke is a recipe for whiskey throttle. Combine it with a jump, and this is the result. Always lean FORWARD when you pin it!
Yeah, true. That does seem the case with a lot of these, for example, riding way too fast and hitting something (or someone) head on. But some of the situations just seem like the bike flies out from under the rider for no reason at all. Like they gave it just smidge too much throttle, or didn't get on the brakes just soon enough.
Almost all dirt crashes are body position related. 90 percent of the time the rider is trying to lean back and gas it through rough terrain, the other 10 percent they panic and get off the gas, allowing the bike to stop going straight.
Of course, everyone's brother-in-law will tell you to lean back and pin it, so it can take many years to unlearn that. Visual control is tough too. Your eyes are drawn down to the bump right in front of you fender, when you need to be looking 3-4 bumps ahead.
Riding a bike that is actually suited to your level helps too. Problem is everyone will tell you you need a 450F or a 250 2 stroke. Guys who buy a dirtbike seem overly macho and make their worst mistake before they ever ride. lol
