CRF450x oil leak

My bike sat most of the summer, I started it up/let it run for a few minutes and a straight stream of oil came out of the overflow tube.

I checked the oil and it wasn't over filled. And its not leaking any where out of the motor. The bikes never been knocked over or touched since the last ride.

Anybody got a clue of what the problem is?

you have little gnomes that put oil in your bike when your not looking.

Maybe if you keep it in a shed where it gets hot the oil heated up and expanded, when the engine runs it takes in the oil so of course the oil is spread out through the components, or there was an air pocket after you changed the oil last that is trying to break free. I really have not much of a clue but figured to toss out an idea. Try changing the oil and see if it comes out of the over flow right after you change it, then let it sit for a week and see if it overflows then.

Stuck float on carb? Not a good scenario. Dump oil quickly as it's probably loaded with gas. Did you happen to leave the petcock open?

ALWAYS close petcock, especially on a carbed bike!

Always closed it after a ride. I'll still take a look though. Thanks for the thoughts!!
