Yeah, I'm a newfound believer in SOFT suspension setups. With the 4 stroke grunt it's possible to keep the bike riding high in the whoops with a very soft front end. I can top those volkswagon sand whoops without getting nervous. The bike tracks so straight in the hack.

The motor is brilliant. Let's see how it holds up. It does have the stainless valve upgrade for durability, but it also has a hi comp piston. We shall see.

sounds killer! i bet you will pick up tons of speed with more motor now 125 smokers require a lot of work, especially in the soft stuff.

    Re: Crowhill today?

Well, I finally rode well today at the sand track. I started experimenting with new lines and found a great one that allowed me to easily clear the spectator double (where we hang out). It has been rounded off so much and the center approach is so whooped that I haven't been clearing it lately. Today I tried using the edge of the track and the edge of the jump. Whee! It lofted me up and well past the landing and set me up for a fast, smooth entry into the big bowl turn. Finally carried some speed through there on the new bike.

It was HOT out. The bike was a little harder to start and when I got home my face looked like a ripe tomato! Supposed to cool down tomorrow.

if I can make the RM a functional mx bike, I might also join ya

being noob^2 to the MX world, and from CH: unable to get the bike to go in a straight line in sand, unable to get above 2nd gear, unable to get air/rolling each jump as "novice" riders sailed over my head, and unable to pass kids on CRF80's, I'd like to give it another shot

Don't feel bad, that happens to anyone/any bike if you let off. Sand is best if you stay pretty pinned and grip the bike with legs but stay loose and let the rear wag around if its going to.

Sidenote, Today was HOT but fun.

hope the track is in decent condition next season (dont think i'll be back on the bike this season), really wanted to make it out to ride the new stuff.

    Re: Crowhill today?

I hear grumblings about closure and ticketing. I also see a lot less people using it. The urban warriors haven't been around this year since they started ticketing at the northampton meadows. I would be so bummed to lose this spot...

no vid. I should take some new stuff on the new bike.
