I just know MX bikes are typically loud... especially older ones... and especially smaller ones that have to have their neck wrung.

I agree. Mine is bone stock and LOUD. Way too loud for any stock bike, MX or whatever.

peter buy your own damn dirtbike. This is the season to tear up the trails, then when the temp drops and the ice freezes we'll be studding up for the lakes. It's a year round bike, don't be cheap.

Any major work done
Last time these things were done:

Clutch
Tires
Brakes
Bearings
Reeds
Top End
Chain/Sprockets

That's a good start.

Ask about current condition of all those too. Odds are he won't wanna get detailed about much and will just say "It's in dcent shape" but it's also worth a shot to get as much info as possible.

Then, since Highsider doesn't have a new kid or anything time consuming like that, he can go look at it for you

You can rebuild any bike ground up in a matter of a day tops. And like I said, the season never ends.

Likely things that need replacing on dirtbikes, are kick shaft/boss, chain, sprockets, brake pads. Fresh piston and rings are nice per year if you ride it a lot. If the bike runs then nothing you will need to do to it will be outside of routine maintnance that you'll have to do with any bike.

Two strokes don't need much. A new piston/ring for $50 bucks, which is a 45 minute job, and you are rolling. Clean airfilter, change oil often, and it's good to go.

From pic it has stock plastics / graphics along with stock pipe. For a 96 to have all that, and it doesn't look beat to shit (pipe isn't dented to hell) that's pretty good.

The helmet / boots included are real shit items so the dude wasn't probably all that into riding hard or MX...

Its in Waterbury, which is about 40 minutes south of where I live - which makes it 40 minutes closer to you.
