A cold weather weight Underarmor compression shirt will protect your cold cutters without leaving a sticky mess behind or requiring band-aid rip and strip removal drills.

    Amen!

Of course I ride with ua, or some type of spandexy type shirt too. And duct tape. The shirt alone doesn't cut it for me, and my bitch tits aren't even that big.

Not really. I had a very embarrassing mis-hap with the street bike last Friday and am thinking I should hang it up for the season. 3 strikes against my dumb ass this season alone. One of these is gonna get me for realz.

    I haven't bought any gear.

And now it is idling like poop. I did some wrenching on it yesterday, installed a bunch of goodies that I bought for it and then went for a rip around the neighborhood. It stalled and would not start a few houses down. Now it's idling poorly.

At this point I am thinking I should just start to strip it down, clean it, and consider a carb soak, then hit next season running.

And then I read you boys n' girls are doing this.

    Re: dirtbike for 'bubs

Rocky Mountain has a 3 day shipping deal. Just ordered a (SNELL rated!) Scorpion off-road lid, goggles, gloves, pants, knee/shin protectors, and 2 pair of padded stretchy shorts. Lots of clearance shopping and the price tag wasn't even that bad. ... Well, that and I am hemorrhaging money lately. So whatever.

Can't find one of those chest/back protectors I like. Will have to ride in my 'stich jacket for now. It has very good elbow, back and shoulder padding. And I'll try to take it easy.

I have some decent 'adventure' street boots. Those will have to do for now as I can't stomach the price of real off-road boots right now. Again, taking it easy.

I will try to get a sticker for the bike one of these nights. Anyone know if I need a chain guard to get such a thing? I think that's all I'm missing to pass a street inspection.

All you need for the OHRV sticker in NH is the VIN of the bike and an ID.

yeah, but he wants to street plate it...

congrats on the gear, but wtf on the idling...a bike that doesn't run right and randomly stalls is more frustrating than not having a bike at all...when you go into the carb, do 1 change at a time to make sure it idles - replace (or clean) pilot jet, blow air through pilot passageways, main jet passageways, float is adjusted correctly, etc. ..if possible, try to get someone to run it through an ultrasonic cleaner...once it runs right and you can just hop on and ride, it'll feel worth it

I already have a street plate. I have a pretty good feel for what I need to do to this thing to get a NH sticker for the street. I needed to know what I needed for the ORHV sticker. tls25rs has me.

Important tech tip: When you reconnect the fuel tank, be sure and hook up the fuggin' vacuum line to the automagic petcock as well.

"Why does this thing only run when on 'prime'?"
"Why does this thing pop on decel?"
"Why won't this thing idle without some choke?"

    Runs purdy darn well now.

    Re: dirtbike for 'bubs

No bad Kharma intended, trailer it in case you need it.... the trailer I mean. Shit breaks quick in rocks and roots. And a nice comfortable ride on the way back with a heated seat always feels good after a dirty ride.

As a side note, the main entrance of Clough off of Route 13 has a bridge closed. Instead use Ray Road off of Route 77. Take 89 North, Get off Exit 2. Bear left and go under bridge. Follow the Road for about 5.5 miles, staying on Route 77. Ray Road will be on your left across from the dump. Turn in and follow in until you get to the parking lot. You will lose cell coverage right at Pages corner, so its better to know ahead of time.

Dirt riding is fun and everything, but I think I've decided I really like street and dirt road riding a lot better. Once these knobies are toasted (shouldn't take long! ) I'll be looking for a more mild dual-sport bias setup. Turn this thing into a real dirt/back road burner. For which it is marvelous.

In related news, speed limits really are way too fuckin' low around here.

    beautiful

and there's plenty of good rubber which will do the dirt/back road burning in full style, while still doing exceptionally well for the *occasional* serious dirt jaunt

Ummm, knobbies turn into street tires when they get toasted.

I'd think first you'd want a seatconcepts kit or something to make it more user friendly.
