    A dirtbike for moi?

I know nothing about dirtbikes. I'm 5.5, and my husband and his buddies say that no matter what "adult" dirtbike I'd get, I will barely, or not at all, be able to touch the ground when sitting on it, that I would have to squish my butt down one side and put my foot down. What you guys think would be the best dirtbike for a woman my size? I don't want anything too powerful to kill myself on, but I don't want a sissy bike either. I want just enough power to have some fun. Good suspension/good tires to be able to go in loose dirt, rocks, roll over some branches....get dirty in some mudd!! The husband will only look at either Kawi or Honda.

I'm 5'6" and have no problem on a full size bike. Don't listen to them.

TTR125 would be my recommendation as well. Since it isn't a Kawasaki or Honda then I guess you are shit out of luck.

The other bike that would be perfect for you is a 2002 KX250. I happen to have one I'd be willing to sell for 2500 too. It must be your lucky day.

Jay, Stephan is looking at getting exactly that. Can you send me pics? littlebusybee@hotmail.com or post them on here...

Looks like the ttr125 is anonymous...this is a Yamaha. Frankly, I don't care what the make is, I guess Stephan is just like the rest of you guys and has his favorites...lol All I want is to be able to go have some fun too on a bike that is appropriate for me as a beginner, and that I won't get bored with after I'm a little more experienced. "If" he ever decide to pay for mine, I might not have much say in this...LOL We're looking to get used, not new, so we'll have to see what's best out there and for the price that is asked.

Recent tires, chain, sprockets, cables, levers, kick start assembly, acerbic hand gaurds, front suspension refreshed and adjustment by peter at GMD computrack, traxtion dynamics valving. Mostly used on the trails, has also seen a couple sessions of ice riding and a few trips to the MX track. Got about $1000 in reciepts from over the winter.

    Edit: I'm stupid.

Go to the dealership and throw your leg over some of the smaller bikes, see which one feels comfy. Then buy a used one.

I think your best bet is a Yamaha TT-R 50 or a Hunda CRF 50

Thanks guys for the recommendation, I will go to a near dealership and sit on a TTR-125 and see how it goes...I'll try a few different models too.

    A dirtbike for moi?

    Hi V,
I just taught my fiance' how to ride on a borrowed Yamaha TTR-125 LE, and it was perfect for that. She is 5'4" and never rode any motorcycle before.
After a couple of lessons on it, we decided to get her own. Hmmm..what to get? We went with an '06 KX100, and she loves it. I wanted to also expose her to the 2-stroke world, and she like the lightness, and "spunkiness" of it by comparison to the TTR. The seat hight is perfect, and the suspension is better by a long shot. In her beginner opinion, the TTR was smooth to learn the basics on, but was noticably heavier, and somewhat boring at times to ride by comparison to the KX. She would never again consider the TTR.
You already know how to ride... Just how you want to offroad is the ??
If you want something exciting, look at something like the KX100. If you just want to tool around from time to time on some trails, look at something like the TTR. Of course...this is just two peoples opinions. Buy what you believe will work for you without being brand sensitive.
