i don't think Corey visits here anymore ... he was probably attending the JDay Red Fern SE or GP, which i assume was on private land EDIT: yes, it's a farm
not legal to ride powerlines as far as i know ... unless someone owns the property and allows you to, which we have a little of here ... but is probably still illegal (in MA at least, not sure on NH)

I houred out at the gas stop. Decided to keep riding out of pure stubbornness. After the fast gasline-type section, I got to a check that was still open and told the guy I was already D/Q'ed. He said whatever, we'll write on your sheet and you can either bail now or enter this last section. I've come this far, why stop now? I didn't realize it was re-riding that first section, except the trench-digging brigade had apparently come through... I had some regrets.
I've yet to be able to find any enjoyment in grease-mud riding. Especially when it becomes a rutted groove for miles. So I wasn't in the best mindset from the start and made a lot of stupid mistakes. I say I'm not competitive. But something in the back of my head says 'do it again, you can do better next time'.

I waffled between “stand up and ride even though it hurts” until my front would just shoot in any direction, and sitting down with my outriggers out. Neither one saved me any more energy than the other, and both were equally treacherous.
It was a REAL good day to have an early minute to start with. I was SO happy to be ahead of the carnage in that section I knew was going to happen in the morning when everyone was feeling fresh and zippy. Not to insunuate that I made it through cleanly, but I didn’t have to work my way through lots of stuck bikes.

I think I was one of the last people to go through the final section - if not the last. I was also in the back to go through it the first time, but it looked way worse the second time around. Several peg-deep ruts and a few climbs that had little options left.
Didn't run in to too many blockers, and most of the ride I couldn't hear anyone behind or in front of me. But I ended up helping a guy push a dead bike out of the way up a hill though. It was a terrible spot to get stuck and figured he wasn't going to have much luck getting it done solo.

Anyone riding Clough Sunday?

I'm probably riding Wrentham or Freetown tomorrow if anyone's looking to ride. Flexible on day/location.
Did the RI turkey run out of Twisted Throttle last weekend. Weather and trails were perfect, and had some great flowy stuff. About half overlapped the enduro route from earlier this year. Gained some sections though Arcadia that were really nice. Wasn't the most challenging stuff if you're not up for gnarly terrain, but the trails were fast enough that I wasn't bored either.

I might go to Freetown in the later afternoon. Mama has to work in the morning, so I’ll be on dad duty, and I’m close for OT at some point over the weekend, so that’s my sitch.

Beartown was a damn good time ... flowy and fast, almost zero tech + weather was Mint ... we're heading back to do it all in reverse.

Riding Clough Thursday, should be up there by 8 or 9.
No problem! Some inspiration for next time - Red Bull's World Enduro Super Series episodes (?) have been pretty well put together. One of the popular competitors is Graham Jarvis, which is the rider I was talking about. There's plenty of great youtube clips out there of pretty much any of the top 10 hard enduro riders.
