i'll prob ride HVD on Sat 5/6 as well.
I was planning on HVD this Saturday then remembered that we have company this weekend. I'll be there next Saturday bright and early.
It's pretty damp but was nice to get out there today. I was finally able to piece together some of the lower trails into a bigger loop. I'm still having a bit of trouble with my tire pressures. Also found some mud that was more like grease, and had my first hard off road get off.
Yes, my neighbor raced it and got the visit. Green cops rolled in with 6 trucks and they walked around the pits writing down names and ViNs, saying its just a warning THIS time...
And for those who don't know, crow hill on Sunday was a jday GP...so if it was like the other popular JDays, roughly a thousand riders, many of whom will be at most JDays, if the green cops decide to create a NEXT time. It's like a nice convenient gathering for them to hand out a few hundred citations and make tens of thousands off fines and impoundment fees...in one day.
Fortunately all that money going to off road registrations under threat of law enforcement is creating great riding areas and opportunities all over the place, right?
Or is it just paying for more green trucks and cops to bust more balls for the government granted privilege of riding a dirtbike? This was an organized event, on private property, on a closed course, where people were already being charged to ride. Government sucks, as does their legalized mafia belief that they can bilk money out of taxpayers for every activity imaginable...boat? Pay. Hunt? Pay. Fish? Pay. Drive? Pay. Ride a dirt bike? Fucking pay. Want to do any of it a few miles down the road in another state? PAY MORE, EVERY YEAR, IN EVERY STATE
Why do you think there's no more SX visiting Foxboro?
I'm not riding in Ma, and never plan to give the state a dime of my money for ORV use.
We should probably split that off into a separate thread. I have loads of questions, but no answers..
we should split that off... i have my thoughts but it seems like more info from the Wick owners is prob the best source for info. lots of bitching from everyone else (track owners, MX racers) which doesn't help.
Absolutely the worst law.
It's not just bikes, it's Jeeps and trucks too.
Even if I wanted to ride or drive around my own property, the EPs can bust me w/o a sticker.
Fuckin Commonwealth my ass.
Guaranteed the vins were going to be run to check to see if any popped up as hot. And wouldn't it be nice to put a name to a hot vin?
Much ado about little, imo. They've cruised through netra and pstr race lots too doing the same thing, and never fined anyone.
^this^ Check my numbers all you want, if it helps you find a stolen bike or two.
Fuck that, it's not worth harassing everyone to find some 3rd hand stolen bikes.
Hey. Couldn't help but notice that you have some stuff in that house of yours. We're just gonna let ourselves in and poke around, you know, in case any of it is stolen. You don't have anything to hide, do you?!
Somehow I doubt the DEM is interested in recovering stolen bikes for all us law abiding citizens with nowhere to legally ride
it's not about stolen bikes, it's about the MA law that went into effect in 2010. everyone was warned, now they're just (finally) following through. some MX/GP orgs are up in arms about it but the reality is they turned a deaf ear and didn't educate their users.
Ok...so as part of knowing my audience, it appears lots of you are very paranoid.
I don't really care about the $40. It allows me to go nuts in Freetown till I get tired of rocks, and might help me be less illegal in other places I like to frequent.
Carry on with whatever it was y'all were up to.
Never understood why massholes complain about having nowhere to ride legally. Am I missing something? You have infinitely more places to ride than we do in RI.
I live in the middle of nowhere. All legal spots are 2 hours away oddly. Plus, they are small and sacked out boneyards. But yes, RI is worse.
EDITZ... hitting HVD Sat 5/6 for about noon'ish.
FYI for anyone who wants to check ahead of time. I have no idea how this works federal vs state. I just know there's a site to plug in numbers.

When is Clough open for bidniss?
I have a free day Sunday.....
May 23 is the official end of mud season in NH. That doesn't guarantee Clough will be open since local conditions can still keep it closed but it will be no early than May 23.
Dang. That gets me into prime "prep for Deal's Gap" time, and graduation season.
