What kind of paperwork do you have? Bill of Sale, title, previous registration, or certificate of origin? What year is it? And is the engine officially 300, or is it like 298cc?
There are hare scrambles which are strictly offroad. No plate required.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Yeah Mox, you can ride Freetown without a street plate, but an enduro requires a street reg because of the road connector sections.
You can race a hare scramble, c class (novice) is an 1.5hr race around a 5-11mile loop, or one of the jday sprint or gp style events, or a short course which is 2-30(or 40)min motos around a smaller loop with no street plate. Ma requires residents to have an ohv sticker even for closed course competition.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
speaking of NETRA Scrambles... i've been thinking about Satan's Kingdom Jun 18 in New Hartford, CT.

I have Certificate of Origin and its a 2017. And KTM website says 293.2 cc.

you take that COO and sales slip and rmv1 to the dmv and never mention the word dirt bike, and register it as if it's just another fancy Austrian motorcycle. oh, and a check for whatever they plan on charging you for sales tax.

Sweeet! thanks for the guidance. and If I already have OHV sticker so I already paid tax? right? SO i just have to show proof that I paid it and If that doesn't count I'm out.
But I will start to work on this.

Not that I would, of course, but could I register my CRF this way?!

Do you have the COO? Even if you do Honda may have put "for off road use only" someplace on the COO which kills that method. KTM is nice enough to not put that on their COO which makes this possible.

Yes, hopefully you still have the slip from the DOR you can bring to the DMV as proof you already paid the tax.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
I had to have Dave do the run around for me after trying twice locally (Watertown, Boston) and failing... I was going for a plate tho. Ended up just paying tax and doing the sticker for now, Dave offered to go to Springfield and made good on it.
Yet another huge :twothumb: for Dave and Motoworx

Ahh ok, that makes sense. Yeah, I have the COO for it, but I've never looked to see if it says off-road only.

I'd do as recommended first. If that won't work, plan B is VT. If you wanna do it all legit, pretty sure you'll end up getting double sales taxed that way though.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Southwick yesterday was a bit of a mess. They were still grooming the track at 9am, meaning the first groups didn't go out until 10. There seemed to be at least 50 bikes in C class, and because the 50cc bikes went out before us, we ended up being limited to 10-minute sessions until the late afternoon.
Track was a hot mess the first few sessions, but got better over time. And I only crashed once! It was over the bars, though, so at least I got some style points...

hot mess because of the number of bikes or just not fully groomed yet? did you race Winchester with Timby?

Both, I guess. The biggest frustration was that they sent out 80cc bikes at the start of the C group, but a lot of those kids are too small to get around the track unassisted, so they took forever to get 'round the track. Which meant that our sessions got shortened from 15m to 10m each time, but also the gap between sessions got bigger. Oh well!
I went to Boston Calling on Sunday, no racing for me. Really want to try Winchester though!

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
I rode Southwick too on Saturday. It was nowhere near the gnarliest/muddiest they will use it, but it was in that kinda dangerous area where 80% of the track is absolutely fine, but some spots would practically throw you over the bars if you picked a line thru the boggy spots. A friend and I rode the first two sessions and bailed, switched to dual sports and put in over a hundred miles on them. All in all a great day of riding!

Hahaa, I get those conditions often at my place! It is definitely dicey.
