Buffalo and Rock House are our favorites. We were supposed to head back down there this fall (went in June) but I messed myself up at the classic and am not dirt worthy right now. We went this time last year, it was perfect riding weather. I hope you have an awesome trip.

You sure it's the bars? I twist my front end up a handful of times a year in crashes or hard bottoms. Also re-torque any mounting bolts up at the triples related to the bar.
I figured she'd be more restrictive of it, since she's made a few comments, but in the end she mostly let's me do what I want as long as it's reasonable. Sounds like she might be on board with a trip down to western ma. Her parents house is in west springfield, so gives us a place to crash anyway.
I'd probably think of running the jday in rumney this weekend (45 min from home), but have other plans already.
Re: the bars... I'll loosen up the clamps and shake things out maybe this weekend, but even before this last dump I think the right side is tweaked just a bit. Not enough to be bothersome, but enough to get in my head. Probably worth the $60 just for that.

Ok, thanks. I'm just a follower this year. PK and the guys have been there a bunch of times. They are planning routes etc. I'm pretty stoked.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
You guys are going to the crumpler area. So indian ridge, pocahontas, pinnacle creek.
Some fun climbs on indian ridge, right out the back door of where you all are staying. Don't miss 135 in pocahontas. My personal favorite.

Rocks? Roots? Yeah, they have that too.
Queue this one up to this marker : https://youtu.be/sIVRBi7R2lE?t=363
Never ending climbs of loose rock. Tight single track through dense wood.
Couple years ago I got cocky and tried to follow Adam up a trail that was ledge hop after ledge hop for a couple hundred feet. That trail was more appropriate for a SxS with a winch than a bike. It was not pretty.
The Hatfield systems are awesome because there is a huge variety. The catch is it is all 2-way and most of it is open to quads and SxS'ers. Meaning those fast, wide trails with really fun switchbacks and sweepers that encourage you to open it up and really rip may feature a 50+" wide SxS around every corner. You never know.
Oh, and it's all on the side of a mountain with breathtaking drop offs on one side. Meaning screw up and you are in for one hell of a recovery effort.. at best.
I wish I were loading up for this right now. I could use it right about now.

Unfortunately this weekends riding isn’t going to happen here. In the past 2 weeks we have had 2 major wind storms, I had the trails almost passable after the storm 2 weeks ago, then even more trees fell in the storm this past Wednesday. I scoped the loop today and there are over a dozen large oaks down scattered about. I’ll need a week or two to clear the trails again
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Cut a new loop today. Some nice loamy straights, big sweeper, and a 2 ft log over.
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Ok then boys!!! There’s a creek that needs to be crossed at my place to access a pretty large section of trail. Last year a huge tree fell across and I abandoned it. Well, I had a second look today and clearing the crossing isn’t going to be too bad! I have a little bit of saw work to do, but I made it to the other side and walked the old trails this morning! All in, probably a 4-6 hours of work and there will be another mile-plus to ride, including a nice hill climb section that has 2 main lines up and some crossing lines between them. Super pumped about this, big fun to be had out here!

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
From what I can find, and using past events for reference you need both a NETRA and an AMA membership to run the Hard Knox event this weekend.
That kind of sucks.
At that point, I might as well just get a yr AMA membership (50) vs just paying for a one weekend (20).
Will have to renew my NETRA card too. Adding up, haha.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Then digging deeper, there is an event being run on Saturday. There's a GP being run by p27nyoffroad.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Get the AMA membership, let it auto-renew and enjoy full roadside assistance for you and spouse no matter what you're driving/towing.

I'm an AMA member. I knew their roadside coverage covered bikes, but do they cover cars as well? Pretty cool if so.
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Cars, bikes, and the reason that sold me, RVs too.
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Is the roadside assistance valid for that first year, or only after it auto renews (starting the second year)?
Not that I expect to need it, but just curious.
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
AFAIK if you sign up with auto renewal enabled, as long as that's toggled and the CC on file is valid you're covered, but ask to be sure?

I don't think you need NETRA for that event, only AMA. It's not sanctioned by NETRA, nor is it their rulebook.

That's why I'm already an AMA member. The south east AAA membership doesn't cover bikes for some reason. I believe signing up for auto-renew is what gets the road side coverage, not length of membership. Pretty sure it's active immediately.

Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Assuming they're not closed because of rain, I'll be going to Crow Hill this Saturday for some practice laps with one of my LRRS garage mates. Anyone else up for some cold weather mx?
-
Re: Let's get dirty...check here for rides.
Well, I got an offer to co-drive at a rally sprint this weekend instead. That won over the hare scramble.
I think next weekend I'll see what's going on. Might try to hit a track somewhere to work on that. I've got mx207, mx101, Sandbox, and Canaan Lions MX all within 1.5 hr from me. NHMX is just a little further too.

Dirt rally?? Where?

Yup. Up at Team O'Neil in Dalton. This is a shorter "rally sprint" where three stages are run a couple/few times each to make a full rally. Unfortunately due to covid, no spectators. There's usually a national rally every July up at Sunday River, but that was cancelled this year. I work as a stage captain (making sure stages are setup/managed) for that.

I didn't get to spend too much time on 207 Saturday - arrived later than I wanted - but that was my first time. Decent size track, nice dirt, some good turns, plenty of passing room. The whole track was lined with a sprinkler system. However I felt like their jumps were on the larger side for me. That said, they also felt dialed in really nice that it seemed like I could have started making some progress if I'd had more time on the track.
Got to take a peak at the endurocross course they'd run back in August. I wish more places would do stuff like that. Moto tracks are the ideal spot for one, but I'm learning moto guys don't do woods stuff. I'm wondering if the tracks realize they could sell a pass just to play around on something like that all day.
